This isn't good at all, that's obvious. I'm just fearing the worst because this coverage. I'm trying to be optimistic because I usually associate leg injury as not being fatal, but the news coverage is scary.

This is from The Daily Mail so take it with a huge grain of salt, but apparently the injuries to Tiger are a shattered ankle and compound fracture in the leg. So if true, it's definitely bad injuries, but nothing life-threatening or something they'd have to amputee a leg for.

With the way that car looked, you expected worse but thankfully it is nothing life threatening With back and now leg injuries tho, have to think at 45 this ends the rest of his golf career but i'm sure he will gladly let that go just still being alive

Still praying for the best.
Even if he gets out alive, his golf career is almost a secondary concern to whether he'll be able to just simply walk and move normally after all this. Or will he feel certain aches and pains long-term because of the wreck.

Awful news.
Get well soon, Tiger.

They said he was conscious and while injuries were serious they weren't critical enough to warrant transfer to very local facility for life saving emergency

I just looked into this more, all I'd seen really was that he was in an accident. Doesn't sound like he was drunk or impaired in some other way. Just sounds like a terrible accident.

www.cnn.com/2021/02/24/us/tiger-woods-car-accident-wednesday-intl-spt/index.htmlSounds rough but like he got seriously lucky. My grandma actually was in a very similar situation around 1999 or so, in a serious car wreck that badly f***ed up her legs to where she had to get a bunch of metal put in them. She was laid up in bed for probably a year or so and while these days she can still walk she's been seriously hobbled ever since. I can't see any chance he plays again.

Glad that it was *just* fractures and so forth.
I doubt that this ends Tiger’s career though. He has an insane work ethic and access to doctors and treatments that most of us regular folk just can’t afford. I’d look for him back by 2022.

I'm sure he'll still participate in some fashion, but he's almost assuredly done seriously competing for titles. He's had a number of surgeries already on his knees as well as 5 back surgeries, and now significantly broken bones in his tibia and fibula and a shattered ankle. For a golfer, just like most athletes, their form is many parts of the body working in one fluid motion. To have bad knees, a bad back, and a shattered ankle at 45 are gigantic obstacles that will need way more than medical science and work ethic to overcome. It's entirely possible that he will never be close the the same player again.

It's entirely possible that he will never be close the the same player again. His bad back was already zapping him of his potential for years on top of age catching up to him and now a leg he has to rehab along with more trauma to his back due to the crash most likely spells the end of a competitive playing career Now, would I rule out him coming back at 50 just to go out the way he wants after years of rehab and working on his game? No. I can see him just wanting to get one more time on the course and call it quits but Tiger has always had an aggressive swing that deals with his back and lower body. It is going to be a long journey and a ton of hell to go through if he wants to play again

He may still play some, but in his 40s with multiple back problems and now leg injuries that'll keep him out of action for probably a year or more? He's done winning tournaments.
Helluva run.
