(Not the British fed) Does anyone here remember ICW, or later when it merged with World Class to become IWCCW? It was incredibly low budget, but it had a charm all its own. Its mainly known now as a place where Tazz and Tommy Dreamer got their starts, but there were some other talented guys who never really made it to the big 3: Vic Steamboat, Joe Savoldi, The Undertakers (worked WWF House shows as Double Trouble in 92-93 but never made it to tv), and Rusty Brooks.

Well one of the Undertakers/Double Trouble did make it to ECW: you'll remember him as Big Val Puccio.
Then you had weird characters like Curly Moe and Super Duper Mario.
And we never learned who was the best I-C champ/had the best neckbreaker, did we?

I was too young to appreciate it at the time but like going back to watch old footage of it. Partly because it was originally Boston based. You can still find clips of it on YouTube. Unfortunately the video quality is pretty wretched. It looks like the tapes were stored on a shelf next to battery acid.

I’ve watched a lot of it on YouTube and it’s just full of really weird gems. Like Tony Rumbles step daughter doing the “Teen Report” youtu.be/LzPqpqNFvfk

Was this the place with the Boston Bad Boy? I think Taz may have been here early in his career as well?

Read about them all the time in the Apter Mags. Never saw any footage until I started tape trading.
Very hit or miss fed. But still a fun watch.

I'd actually never heard of this promotion before - which is weird because it's in the same state I've been in all my life - it came up when Rusty "Super Duper Mario" Brooks died last month and I'd meant to look into it more since... The Undertakers (worked WWF House shows as Double Trouble in 92-93 but never made it to tv) As part of some deal WWF "had to make" (or chose to) to get the rights to that name away from them, for obvious reasons. They got some pay days with zero promise of being on TV, and I reckon they were ok with that?

I used to watch on Sportschannel New England late at night around 89-91. The IWCCW was essentially Kevin Von Erich being on screen one show and promising to be part of the action in the near future. I'm almost certain nothing else happened between the two feds.
Low budget is putting it mildly. It was a terrible show that I only watched because it was wrestling. They would have lots of repeat matches- Tony Atlas hanging Ivan Putski in the ropes and beating him mercilessly was played seemingly every week.
I did like Curly Moe and the Equalizers-Zip and Zap. Pretty sure one of them was in Public Enemy. Tony Rumble was pure gold, and Chris Cruise was also there.

I too remember ICW on SportsChannel around 1990. I would always laugh at Boston Bad Boy Tony Rumble; he was as low rent as anybody who ever put on a pair of tights. Yet, he managed Tony Atlas, go figure. I saw Rumble get his teeth kicked out of his face by Bruiser Brody in Puerto Rico. Yeesh, what a sight!

I remember seeing the iwccw rankings and pictures in the apter mags, but never saw it in person. I was curious about it because of the Wccw part, I thought it was an offshoot. I remember Kevin von erich was there briefly and I remember seeing pics of the tazmaniacs.

Remember? I probably could recite Vic Steamboat vs Tony Atlas move for move from memory.

The only wrestling show I ever attended was an IWCCW show in my hometown of Staten Island in 1991 where the main event was Honky Tonk Man vs. Rick Rude. Ended either in a DQ or no contest. I also remember Honky peaking from behind the door before the show started and the kids running up to him and him walking away, Ivan Putski teaming with his son, and Tony Atlas in the ring with his hands on the top rope sticking his tongue out in my mother's direction as she took a photo of him. Oh, and Vladimir the superfan was there too. Ha.

I only ever saw the episode where Rick Rude and Honky Tonk Man challenged each other to find out who the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time was.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXpPsuL61HQ - This clip was posted on the "this happened?" thread a while back and I didn't think it was the show I was at because it was shown as if it was the START of the feud when it was actually the lead into the match, therefore this WAS the show I was at! Can't really see me and my parents in the second row in the background. Too blurry and quick with the cuts, but apparently, you can see the entire show on classicwrestling.net under the title "Staten Island Showdown" IWCCW. You can register and watch it for free with ads if you wish. Apparently, this was also the show where the future Tazz and future Tommy Dreamer had their first ever match against each other. Of course none of us had any idea at the time.

The only thing I remember about IWCCW was them using the old World Class opening theme, and Tony Atlas.

This wasn't the outlaw promotion Angelo Poffo ran against the Memphis office?

I remember this on Saturday mornings in the early '90s. When ECW became popular, I recognized some of the names from here. This, along with GWF, had some inconsistent airtimes around then in New England.
