I wasn't a huge fan of the Eliminators back in the day, but I knew of Perry Saturn and John Kronos. Then Saturn went to WCW, and I forgot Kronos existed. I always just kinda assumed they were two guys who happened to be tag partners.
I am also a big fan of Roman and Greek mythology, so you'd think I'd have made this connection years ago.
Perry Saturn is named for the Roman god, whereas John Kronos takes his name from the same god, but the Greek version.
Can't believe I didn't know that.

Yeah, apparently Saturn wanted to name them something like "The Harvesters", but Heyman felt it was a little too obscure, and suggested Eliminators. Something to that effect.

Even in an era of elaborate duo moves, I still think Total Elimination is still my favorite tag team finisher for sheer simplicity and brutality when done right.

Wow! I had no idea either. That's awesome!
This has officially outranked "Saturn had a cameo in a House of Pain" music video as my favorite Saturn trivia!

Re: wrestler names... WWE's The Authors of Pain were called Akam and Rezar, which sure sounds a lot like it was meant to sound like Occam's Razor ("the simplest explanation is usually the right one").

Honestly thought I was the only person who didn’t realize this, so nice to see it’s news to others, too.

I’m still tripping when somebody on here pointed out the New DAY’s finish is the Midnight Hour. Stared me right in the face all this time but didn’t pick up on it til right there

For the longest time, I think it wasn't until 2018 or thereabouts, I didn't realize that Sgt Slaughter, who was a G.I. Joe at the time, used the Cobra Clutch as a finisher/signature move. Blew my mind when I connected the dots.

I love whenever people go nuts when they realize why "Fisherman Suplex" is called what it is: You hook the leg.

I’m still tripping when somebody on here pointed out the New DAY’s finish is the Midnight Hour. Stared me right in the face all this time but didn’t pick up on it til right there That also feeds in to their catchphrase "Feel the Power!" which directly references Madonna's "Like a Prayer" specifically this lyric in the refrain: In *the midnight hour* I can *feel your power* One minor edit (your for the) and everything connects.

Even in an era of elaborate duo moves, I still think Total Elimination is still my favorite tag team finisher for sheer simplicity and brutality when done right. I always thought the move looked cool no matter who was doing it. Never really thought of it as high impact or devastating. Until I saw Tommaso Ciampa on an episode of Developmentally Speaking. He said that Cade and Murdoch gave him a legit neck injury with the move when he wrestled them as an enhancement talent. Ciampa said Cade and Murdoch were supposed to get a push and feud with DX but Shawn approached Ciampa after he took the move and Shawn asked Ciampa if they were safe with the move. Ciampa told him the truth that they injured him with the move so the push for Cade and Murdoch and feud with DX never happened.
