Really what I'm looking for in a show is just something relatively straightforward where things of consequence happen fairly regularly, storylines don't typically drag on for an eternity (not that longterm storylines are always bad by any means, but a lot of the time it just feels like they're long for the sake of being long), there's an overall focus on singles matches - tag matches are fine and all but I don't want them being the bulk of the content and I don't want constant stable wars, there are diverse and interesting characters, and while they have competent heels faces are actually allowed to have their day in the sun every once in awhile instead of constantly being undercut directly after their moment of triumph because HEAT.
Is there any company out there right now actually like this? The closest I can really think of is Impact but it has a reallllly shaky roster and for the moment the further I am away from Bullet Club bullshit the better.

BEYOND Wrestling I think fits your criteria

This thread made me want to look up what's MLW up to these days. Their stories usually are short and easy to follow. Lots of interesting match combinations you won't see elsewhere. Love how easy their Youtube channel is to navigate!

Love how easy their Youtube channel is to navigate! Its a great one hour show. Good wrestling and characters. The only reason I didnt suggest it to the OP is they have bunch of stables and tag teams intersecting. Still not as many groups as AEW nor are they as big.

NWA, maybe IMPACT. Obviously not AEW, ROH or New Japan.

Yeah another mention for MLW, I've not watched them in a while but their shows used to be nice and easy to consume with a good mix of talent both new and familiar.

Limitless Wrestling fits. 1 hour show. Storylines last maybe a month. Only drawback you gotta have IWTV to watch it. Go on youtube and check out the Limitless Wrestling channel. They usually upload a few matches each week from their week show "The Road".

Love how easy their Youtube channel is to navigate! I love the current incarnation of MLW and came so close to recommending it for my answer. But figured I’d chill and see what others had to say. It doesn’t fit perfectly in the OP’s mold but hits a lot of the same points. They’re not strictly singles wrestling though and they do have stables. Although singles competition is the bulk of the action and the stables are NJPW-esque where a lot of the time wrestlers just have a loose association and have their own storylines.

The current version of MLW has an underground fight club atmosphere that makes the lack of crowd work in a way it doesn't for a lot of the more studio-type wrestling shows.

I can also vouch for MLW. Granted, I haven't followed it as much nowadays, but from my experience, I found their shows to be quite enjoyable. Also, it's from watching MLW where I truly began to appreciate MJF's work as a heel.

a lot of MLW’s storylines do go on for a little bit though now really isn’t 100% their fault since they didn’t run shows during the pandemic, but feuds like Tom Lawlor vs the Von Erichs, contra unit with Jacob Fatu’s title run, Richard Holiday vs Savio Vega went on for quite some time

...but I love long-running stories and stable wars...... Really, I'd say MLW. I know you have complaints about Bullet Club, but outside of Kenny's crossover hybrids in AEW/Impact, the EVIL/Jay White version in NJPW aren't really dragging their storylines out and they've been quicker paced as of late (EVIL has something going on with Yano now, and the current Jay/Tana angle). Plus they have some strong heel champions, but it's ultimately a babyface-leaning company in terms of who's usually on top. Quick question, do you (the OP) see stables as storylines in and of themselves? I never did personally, I always viewed stuff like DX, BC, nWo or Inner Circle as company staples meant to last a long time.
