We all know he is going to work at the mayor's office in Knoxville County He really doesn’t strike me as the sort of person with any desire to deal with the bullshit, but I’d laugh my ass off if he took a hard turn out of nowhere and announces he’s running for office instead of continuing in wrestling. I think it'd be for his native Washington or new home of Arizona if it does happen. That said, while he and Glenn Jacobs have a lot of mutual respect and friendship, they're pretty much on opposite ends politically. So I don't think working under him is going to be a thing lol.

Would love it if we get Bryan Danielson vs Christopher Daniels at the ROH 20th Anniversary. Just imagine that pop if The Final Countdown hit.

Hypothetically, say Bryan was heading to another promotion. NXT, NJPW, AEW, whatever. What would his vignettes be? How would you debut him? What's his character?

Tony Khan's search history:
"Cost to license 'The Final Countdown'" "Name of band who did 'The Final Countdown'" "Europe's contact info" "Europe the band's contact info, not the European Parliament" "How to stop accidentally calling Angela Merkel" "How to avoid Interpol from finding you" "Plane tickets to The Hague" "International tribunals for dummies" "Would BD mind if he just came out to Wagner again"

I do believe financially WWE will give him a boatload to re sign but..
His contract will let him wrestle other places, possibly even AEW.
Id like that or in NXT there is tons of people I'd like to see him wrestle.

I mean, if he's in NXT, he might as well be how he is in WWE now, right? A guy who wants to prove himself to everyone and now can on another show with people wondering if he can hang after losing to Roman. Like, in that context, it's just making the WWE seem like a wider entity instead of "We have two main roster shows and I guess another TV brand, maybe?" they're doing now. I'd say it really depends on where he'd end up. I think the proving himself foundation can go except the difference between him and, say, Christian, is that Bryan Danielson needs to remind people who he was, why he was one of the longest reigning champions ever, why he almost lost his eye to Morishima or his brain to McGuinness, he can even link stuff to the interview he did where he needs to find his edge again and even being on the bigger stage made him doubt himself. Christian in comparison is a guy coming back after 7 years and finding out if he can go again, with Danielson...dude did that. If we're talking debuts? I guess Double or Nothing makes sense for Bryan, possibly setting up a TNT title feud against new champion Miro (it sounds strange to put him there but that title's been elevated so much at this point and I wouldn't want an Omega match to happen on TV before Omega loses the title to Hangman).

Bryan Danielson being The American Dragon sells itself. He sells himself at this point simply being Daniel Bryan, he has an intangible energy crowds and fans simply gravitate towards and connect to in both his personality and ring style Every company is different, but if he were to debut in AEW say? I think you have Kenny in ring, and you just hit The Final Countdown (Or whatever theme they'd give him). Similar to how they did it with Sting which was a damn near picture perfect debut. You tease Omega/Danielson out the gate, I think the buyrate for your next PPV teases a record break.

It would seem that he can't lose.
Yes, he might have to clear some things with Brie about working elsewhere, but it's not as if Brie would get too much heat with WWE while Laurinaitis is there. Total Bellas does not rely on WWE cooperation nearly as much as it used to do now that neither Brie nor Nikki is active.
Bryan doesn't owe WWE as much as some fans may think he does. There was a considerable amount of time that WWE's doctors wouldn't clear him when every doctor he'd visited, some with far better credentials than WWE staff physicians, had cleared him. It took the Smackdown Live GM gig and likely a far larger sum of money to keep him from jumping ship five years ago. Clearly he doesn't need the money (his needs are few and simple) and, in the midst of lacklustre WWE TV programming, perhaps he sees working elsewhere as a last kick at the can for giving back to the profession and the business as a whole. In WWE he'd be hobbled in his moveset and the booking direction simply has little to no room for him anymore.

Well yeah, he lost on Friday, Roman ripped up his contract. Just watch tv and you’ll know all the on-goings in the WWE Universe! I hope this week on SD, Roman taunts Cesaro by eating Bryan's contract.

Why do people want to wrestle in other companies so badly? I don't mean leave WWE. I mean, it seems many talent don't want to be confined to one company and go all over. Isn't that hell on the body?

Wherever he goes I hope he doesn't go too crazy in the ring. The good thing about him being in WWE these days is he wrestles a fairly low-risk style. After his concussion issues I don't need to see him going back to the days of diving headbutts in every match or doing super stiff matches and getting suplexed on his head regularly. He's good enough to get by without taking those kind of risks. Just imagine that pop if The Final Countdown hit. I will never understand why WWE didn't use it for him at Wrestlemania 30. If you're going to change someone's music you don't do it on the biggest night of their career and risk diminishing their pop. For every ROH fan in the building who would instantly get it there would a bunch who don't and would be confused. Look at the night CM Punk debuted Cult of Personality on Raw. It got little reaction for the first 30 seconds until he walked out because most fans didn't associate the song with him.

I’m sure he will re sign, just based off of how he was still made to look strong in defeat on Smackdown. If he had taken a pin or tapped, I might think otherwise.

I mean, that hasn’t really stopped stuff before. To give a random example, Matt Hardy looked REALLY strong in defeat against Randy Orton of all people and then he left and ended up in AEW.

I was just thinking about how much I'd love to see him roll in and dethrone Kenny Omega. It would need a hell lot of buildup and both men should be kept away from each other for weeks, if not months until a contract signing and formal match(es). Make it a big deal.
I best keep dreaming. Cynical me tells me that Bryan is probably going to take a backstage role.

Honestly, debuting a new theme before (sometimes literally right before) a wrestler's biggest match isn't too uncommon. It even became something people expected from Ring of Honor after a little bit, starting when Austin Aries stopped using Rage Against the Machine and started using Personal Jesus right before he beat Samoa Joe for the title.

During the Fightful stream today, Sean Ross Sapp gave an update on Bryan, and he heard that it's really likely Bryan stays with WWE.
