So, in case you were wondering where a certain Mister Eric Bugenhagen aka Rik Bugez aka the Night Panther was, well, you got your answer on Smackdown tonight:
Hopefully he sticks around for a good while.

Rick Boogs is a prime example of where NXT has changed and kind of lost a bit of itself in the process. You remember cult heroes of yore like Tyler Breeze or Enzo Amore (before all the stuff) who came from nowhere with a big gimmick, won everybody over and became TV regulars? Boogs did that in ONE NIGHT on his only NXT appearance, but you know what happened? Nothing. Because he wasn’t a workrate guy with a name in the middle of a ratings battle, he just went back to the bench for another year and a half, getting booked in more Old Spice commercials than matches.
When Vince McMahon is more on the same wavelength with the fans on a talent than the NXT bookers are, that’s a very unsettling thought.

Give them the tag titles now! I’ve never heard of the guy before, now I’m a immediate fan.
Ryan Howe is probably crying watching his tv.

To Eric's credit, it shows how much an impression he made in one single appearance on NXT that here we were are, able to immediately identify him based off one appearance in a way plenty of NXT talent who've been used an enhancement talent haven't. Something about him reminds me of John Nord and I can't put my finger on what. It's the mustache, maybe?

It’s like “Pretty” Peter Avalon and Elias had a baby and then that baby had all the cocaine.

Rick also disappeared because his schtick was doing the whole air guitar thing with the fans... it's hard to do that with no fans...

He plays up his persona on youtube as well, promoting dangerous training in a hyper aggressive way. Maybe that has changed over the past couple months, but I could see why he maybe is viewed as a liability. Seeing his lifts sure has soured me on him (what an odd sentence to write).

Don't know why he isn't on Raw. He has a ready made feud with Elias right there.

Don't know why he isn't on Raw. He has a ready made feud with Elias right there. Was just going to post the was the thing. It would be a natural no brainer feud and it would give Elias some direction as it seems like they never have a clue what to do with him. It would be like a much better version of the Van Hammer-JT Southern feud from 1992 WCW mainly for the fact that the face in this case can actually play the guitar unlike the Hammer/Southern program where Southern the heel could legit play and would show off his ability while calling out Hammer the face for being a phony because he would just carry his guitar the ring and never play with Hammer proving him right by continuing to never play it. In this case though with Elias and Boogs they could actually do competitions in the ring with who could play better with Boogs showing up the heel Elias and putting him in his place.

His Cagematch listing doesn’t really indicate any major injury problems except for a couple of months in late 2019 long after his lone TV appearance. Other than that, he was always on the house show loop until they had to stop doing them. www.cagematch.net/?id=2&nr=20380&page=4

I remember when I first saw him on NXT I was like, "Who the f*** is this goof?!?!" but he quickly won me over.

I could've sworn he tore his ACL multiple times in a relatively short time span and combined with the way he throws around weights, it wasn't any wonder to me.

It might’ve been before his TV appearance then, because he has been in the system a deceptively long time.

This is the Old Spice guy, right? Didn't he already hold the 24/7 title?
