I could see a Running Man remake with Henry Rollins playing the Captain Victory role. "Are You Ready For PAIN?!"

I like how my hot topic sells wrestling shirts, no lie.
Right next to the emo bands and the invader zim hoodies.

I hate Hot Topic with a passion. Acting like they are so underground when they are really so beyond corporate they make Abercrombie look metal.
Anyways, time for a true Hot Topic story:
Along time ago when somehow I could take being in the store for 5 minutes I wanted to purchase a Grim Reaper patch. So as I got to the counter I pointed it out to the employee and she responded "Wow!, I didn't know we sell these!". I said in return "You didn't? It's been there for a while." She responded with this completely mind numbing statement "No I didn't, this is too metal for our store."
And just to make a correction on a comment someone said earlier, Hot Topic isn't for fat chicks, it's for scenesters, preppy looking guys and gals who want to be cool and look "Rockish" with the current trend and poseurs/wannabes. Also on rare occasions there are people like us who somehow find the testicular fortitude to wade through the piles of crap to buy something in that story because it's the only place you can find it.
Torrid(which we have in Jersey) is for Overweight/Plus-Sized Women. It seems to be more credible than Hot Topic ( Like to call it Hot Profit myself.).

Its also for people that like current music, without actually caring whether or not there is a "scene" or trend involved. Like me, for example. I could give a f*** who else listens to what I do.

There's nothing wrong with fitted shirts.
I'm close to 6'0'', weigh about 205-210 (haven't checked for awhile), but I'm also broad shouldered, so most people say I carry the weight alright.
For me, fitted size-L shirts mostly do the trick, and, honestly, look a lot better on me than XL's do (I wore only XL before I dropped some weight). The XL's just puff out too much on me, make me look bigger than I am, and unless I'm going for a specific look that calls for a bigger shirt, they just don't do much for me.
Some L's are ridiculously small, though, which is obnoxious as hell. I have a Captain Morgan t-shirt that I swear shrunk to a M in two washings.

"No, we used to have them but we don't anymore. Try K-Mart or something. Once something goes mainstream, we stop selling it here." It took so much self control for me not to laugh right in her face. I then asked her why they sold half of the band t-shirts on the wall then. And she said "huh?" She doesn't work there anymore. You probably caused something to snap in her fragile psyche and caused her to now work at Abercrombie or Banana Republic. WAY TO GO!!! ;D

I've seen them do that, too, Waitwaitwait... when something goes mainstream they don't sell it? But the mere franchising of Hot Topic makes it mainstream. How can they sell ANYTHING? And I don't buy in HT. They don't have any women's clothes above size M and that just ain't flyin' with me. And Torrid veered off into some weird Lane Bryant-y direction. God, I miss Music Factory.

Yeah, I've never understood that, Kar. It's impossible to shop for a female there that....well....has breasts above a small C. (Which is odd, seeing as many fat goth chicks in there as I do. WHAT ARE THEY BUYING?!)

Hot Topic is a mixed blessing now in that I have to make my way through high school scenesters to get to the only place that has licensed merchandise for shows those kids aren't even aware existed. Hot Topic was the only place to get the retro Nickelodeon shirts a while back, and now they are the only ones with shirts of the old TMNT cartoons and Pee Wee's Playhouse. Oh, by the way, check out this smug bastard trying to look emo while wearing a shirt with a dancing Pee Wee Herman on it: www.hottopic.com/hottopic/store/product.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302024065&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442152439

Then I buy something Family Guy and leave cackling.

And for the record this is Torrid. What should've been Hot Topic in Actual Sizes now carries Baby Phat clothes. UGH.

I used to mainly go in to check out the hot goth chicks behind the counter.
Now that goth has given way to emo, however, its harder and harder to tell the hot chicks apart from the guys of dubious sexuality.

Aside from the T-Shirt wall, I'm pretty sure that's the only reason most guys ever go in there.

Hey, skinny guys need a place to buy shirts too. Up until a couple years ago, I had to shop in the kids section for T-shirts, and I don't even consider myself a small guy. I'm freakin' six feet tall and 165 lbs.! Maybe it's just that a lotta people in Michigan are fat so the sizes run very big here. And I hate loose T-shirts, they make me look like I'm trying to hide my chub, when I actually am in pretty good shape. Meh I wear XL-2XL size shirts and Im like 5'9 and 120, big shirts are real comfortable...
