Came out on facebook yesterday. Got lots of support from my friends and family, good thing we've always been pretty open-minded.

So I figured out I'm asexual.
I promise you, I never wanted to be one of those "come out during Pride" people because even saying it out loud, it feels like I'm faking it or a lesser version of that but, well, that's what feels right to say about it.
A lot of it is a long time coming and from a lot of factors I sort of made sense of but I guess because other places know, this seems like the right place to put it.
Our flag sort of sucks, though Haha.

I like the OG rainbow flag and the trans flag is nice too but I feel like too many people got trapped in the line of thinking that every flag had to be a spin on the same concept of "bars of color" instead of being a bit more creative. The California flag, the flag of Mexico, the New Mexico state flag, off the top of my head those are some dope looking flags. I guess what I'm saying is I want a bisexual flag that's like a badass tiger riding a cloud or something. Dare to dream.

You know... I realized a few years ago that I actually wasn't bisexual like I thought but rather asexual and I've never been happier with myself.
Some people were like "Do you have a low sex drive or testosterone?", and the answer was neither; I realized I just didn't like sex after all.
Course, that confuses people since there are those who wonder why someone couldn't be into sexual relations without religion as the motivation, and it's simple... I know sex isn't for me.

I decided to do Pride Month variants on the site banners for both my comics. Both comics have members of the main cast that are LGBT so felt pretty appropriate. ... Granted I kind of wonder if one of them looks more reggae.

*deep breath* I donβt care where some one identifies in terms of LBGTQ2+. I look for connections not genders. Attraction is attraction *deep exhale* I think Iβve figured a few things out lately but holy shit this is a lot to verbalise it. I live in a redneck Manitoba town. It is really nice to say this out load. Iβve been trying to work up to talking to my sister about this, hopefully soon Back when I was growing up, being a member of the community was heavily frowned upon, and people who were known to be LBGTQ were often made fun of and ostracized from society. Those were tough times, but it's nice to see some progress made over the years. Granted, there's still a ways to go yet, but hopefully, we see some improvement on that front.
"Attraction is attraction" is the best way of putting it. Doesn't matter the gender, nor does the sexuality of a person matter. At the end of the day, who a person loves is up to the individual themselves. To outlaw those rights is the same as trying to dictate how someone chooses to live their life in that regard, and that's wrong.

And tbh, the bi colour scheme applies itself to a lot of stuff well, so there's nothing to stop us having tigers riding clouds! I think that's kind of why the 'bars' thing works for pride flags, it's a simple shorthand that's easily recognisable, and can then be riffed on from there. Only one I'm not the craziest on is the pan flag (no offense to any of my pan friends out there) just because the colours are full saturation which is a bit too much for my aesthetic tastes, and the yellow doesn't really blend with pink and blue as well as the purple. My attraction could be classified as bi or pan, but I mainly stick with bi just because it's the label that helped me discover myself, to emphasise that the bi is not binary, and because I'm not a fan of the flag.

Just wanted to bump this for another week of Pride Month, just til the month ends. For those who need this sense of visibility.
I love reading/seeing the LGBTQIA+ community and also straight allies interact and share stuff here.
It's lovely, because I've never thought to see this sort of thread pop up on a primarily pro-wrestling forum, 15 years ago, when I was a young teen.
The societal progress over the last decade is so darn nice, seeing how the new generation (Gen Z) can accept and be more confident & comfortable with themselves at a young age. Millennials, & Gen X (some older), walked so Gen Z could run with the freedom to be themselves that even younger Millennials couldn't until later on in life. Might be some envy there, but in a good way. Warms my heart/soul.

I really liked the Bisexual color scheme! On IOS (Apple emojis), I always use the pink heart with the sparkle, the purple heart and the blue heart to represent it. I agree a lot of the other LGBTQIA+ flag designs aren't the most visually pleasing as they're simple color variations of the rainbow, but not as original (only my opinion, more power to those who love their individual flags!). But the Bisexual flag even as bars looks nice to me, aesthetically pleasing with the blend of the colors and what they can mean. It's a color scheme you can wear/accessorize without being too 'loud' so to speak and it goes well with plain black/monochrome.

I've only been out of the closet to my family for a couple of years, and I'm still getting used to it. Been lying to them about it or rather omitting it for so much of my life. I still forget sometimes that I'm not hiding shit from them?
I'm still building my 'pride', I guess.

It probably says something about the visibility of bisexual men in mainstream media when the only example of a character I can think of in a recent show or movie is John Constantine from Legends of Tomorrow and that's it. The Devil and all his lovers disagree
