What would you call this double-theatre experience? "Aquaman and the Iron Claw?" "Iron Man?" (oh wait) Water World Class Championship Wrestling? The Von Currys

I think the weirdest double feature I've ever done was Butterfly Effect and 50 First Dates I did Reno 911, Ghost Rider, and the Number 23. That day suuuucked.

I saw it this afternoon, enjoyed it well enough. Still kind of bummed out that DCEU didn't work out as a whole, it did seem to have potential to begin with, but *sigh* Pretty sure I made the people in my theater chuckle though because I was kind of in a hurry to go because I was also seeing Iron Claw, and Aquaman 2 was supposed to end at the exact same time Iron Claw was beginning, but I knew there was a mid-credit scene and decided to wait to see what it was. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I was standing off to the side by the stairs, waiting for the credit scene to start, and once the cockroach started crawling on Orm's table, everyone around me went "oh no", then once the scene ended, I threw my hands up, said, "I waited to see THAT?" and left to run to the theater IC was held in. Hahah. Thankfully the ads were still running so I didn't miss anything What would you call this double-theatre experience? "Aquaman and the Iron Claw?" "Iron Man?" (oh wait) Iron Clawqua Man?

Yeah if you’re tired of super hero movies there’s nothing in this one that will charge your mind.

So know how the movie was tracking for a $32-$43 million opening weekend and how that would've been disastrous? It did $28 million. Puts it barely above Blue Beetle but below Fury of the Gods.

In fairness, Christmas is a big movie day. Probably a lot of people waiting til tomorrow to see it instead of the usual weekend.

For perspective, The Marvels did almost twice that much for their opening weekend, and the Hollywood press f***ing pilloried Nia DaCosta.

This still feels like a movie yet to be released.

This still feels like a movie yet to be released. I'd genuinely forgotten it had until this evening, when I saw this:

The most surreal movie combination I ever experienced was not in a cinema. I went over to my friend's house. My sister had just bought the VHS of A Bug's Life so they told me to bring it. When I got there, I learned they had rented some movie called American History X, which we watched first. When the credits finished a friend slapped his hands together and said "time for A Bug's Life!" as I looked at him incredulously asking if we had just seen the same movie. So yeah, I watched A Bug's Life immediately after American History X. That night stuck with me.
As for Aquaman 2? I had a good time. They maybe could have tuned down just how much of a meathead Aquaman was, but I get that they were trying to play up the differences between the brothers. Also, Black Manta is so petty he makes Elon Musk look down right buddhalike. Dude was gonna destroy the world because he wanted revenge for someone killing his dad...who was a mercenary that regularly killed other people. Also, his dad had tried to kill Aquaman. Anyways, it was enjoyable enough. Not amazing but I'm not wishing I had those two hours back. Funny in a way that the Snyderverse goes out with a movie filled with humour and bright colours, two things he wanted nothing to do with.

This currently has $429 million worldwide, 122 of which are from the US.
It's both a huge drop from the first film, and yet held up pretty strongly and might actually scrape a small profit.
Think the placement was a huge help, little competition for the like and some potential strong contenders that flopped, so it kept rolling along.
