I've completed New Vegas six or seven times. A conservative, quick run-through of that game - like the evil one that I did just to do unexplored content but hated doing - was like 30 to 40 hours for me. It's definitely that.
Close second is probably Fallout 4, if only because I just kept playing it expecting a better game to happen and it never did.

I’ve sunk about 400-500 hours into my one character in Elder Scrolls Online.
If you’re going over multiple play throughs I’ve done the Mass Effect series four times, on average 40 hours a game, times three games (except I’ve only played 1 three times), plus Andromeda once which took me 70+ hours; over 500 hours.
Final Fantasies are well into the multiple thousands of hours but that’s over dozens of games.
But most of all on one single game is probably the mobile Star Wars game Galaxy of Heroes which I’ve sunk around 20-30 minutes a day into every day for over three years, plus some days going for a bit more. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s into the 700’s

Got Street Fighter II Special Champion Edition on the Sega Genesis the day it came out. For at least 5 months once I was off from work we would sit there and play SFII for at least 5 hours each night. So looking at like 750 hours or so playing that game. I liked playing with the Genesis 6 button controller, it's like the arcade layout. I have a couple Genesis 6 button USB controllers for my raspberry pi. For me the Sega Genesis 6 button controller is my favorite controller. Back when SFII came out I got two six button controllers. One was the Sega made one. The other was some other company made one. But it had a few extra buttons you could program macros on.

Way too many to talk about but the one I'll mention is Life is Strange, I've put over 300 hours into that game. Now that doesn't seem like a whole lot until you find out that a go around is anywhere between 10-20hrs so to put 300+ in is a lot of time

Thinking about it I bet I have put close to 500 hours into Toejam and Earl. When it came out it quickly became my "hey I want to play a game for a bit" game. And it still is.
Really isn't any modern games, outside of SNK card fighter on the DS,that appeal to me enough that I put piles of time into them. SNK Card Fighter though I have got to have at least a few hundred hours in that game. When I was working doing Home Health care I would play that game for at least 3 hours each night at work.

Hm, I don't play many games anymore compared to when I was a kid/teen, but I tend to get stuck on the games that I do play whenever I get the chance to play (which is rare, as a busy now adult). But here are few that I put time into, in no specific order:
Shadow of Mordor/War (Nemesis system is no joke, it keeps you hooked, wish more games had it) Football Manager Games (hard to stop playing once you get into) Persona 5 (Amazing game. Didn't even feel long, the pacing is really good) Civilization Series ("One more turn") Pokemon (as a kid, I played and reset over & over) Fate Grand Order (convenient, bc it's mobile. Surprisingly addicting)
Love X-COM 2 but I checked my time and I actually didn't put too much hours into it as I thought.

I got a shit load of time on Final Fantasy X Beat it on PS2 when it came out, and have beaten it on damn near every other system PS3, PS4 and I own it on Switch Currently debating getting it for PS5 so I had the disc version for my previous systems on Playstation and I got the digital PS5 Same. Across all systems I did every side quest, got all the Celestial Weapons, and played a stupid amount of Blitzball. Not getting it on PS5 because like Scorpio "Blitzball is better on FFX-2" Sky, I don't have one.

Not counting time-wasting games like Solitaire and Freecell, probably Super Metroid and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

I'm currently at 1065 hours played in Elder Scrolls Online and nothing else really comes close. I think I had 100 or so in RDR2, which would probably be #2 or 3.
I'm fairly certain I've got more in Skyrim than RDR2 but between switching from 360 to Xbox One, losing the profile I played most of those hours on, and other factors like losing interest in gaming for a bit my current time is just under 100 hours.

I feel like it has to be a Pokemon, Mario or Donkey Kong Country game. Those are the three franchises I consistently come back to, year after year. Maybe Kirby, but I doubt it.

These 8 characters have consumed my soul from 2008 till this every day. L4D/L4D2 is the most I've ever played any game ever. With a team, with randoms, or solo. Back 4 Blood looks fun, but the vibe of the OG is gonna be hard to top.

I'm pretty sure I put 300+ hours on Perfect Dark back in the day.

Back 4 Blood looks fun, but the vibe of the OG is gonna be hard to top. I loved the first L4D, but for some reason don't enjoy the second all that much. The second has more and better everything, but I just get over playing it within like the first area of a single level. To this day I don't know why.

Outside of time sinks lke Civ and Rollercoaster Tycoon, I would surely have to say the original Doom. I still loop the first 3 Episodes when I need to think. It's more like something to keep my fingers busy by that point.
