Nothing feels like it matters.
So what's the point in getting invested?
We are basically told that NXT doesn't matter, most of the titles don't matter, wins and losses don't matter... So why are we even watching?
All I want a show that has continuity, logic and substance. One that doesn't insult my intelligence or make me feel like an idiot for getting invested in it.
Even Charlotte winning the title... What was the point? To say she won another title and she's closer to her Daddy's fake record? Why not just have Nikki cash in on Rhea?
Too many times Champions lose matches and look weak.
Back in the 90s-mid 2000s, some wrestlers only had 4 title reigns if they were lucky. Now you have guys on their 12th and 14th reigns and it's like... Who even cares anymore. I'd much rather watch them hold the title for 2 years than see them win the title over and over again and devalue the prestige.
Don't get me started on Alexa Bliss hypnotising people. Look, I'm all for gimmicks in wrestling and I would even say I like Alexa Bliss. But I draw the line at her hypnotising people and making them slap each other and copy her movements. Its cringe and it's basically one of the things that makes me embarrassed to be in the same room watching it with another non-wrestling fan. Undertaker was supernatural but when it came to the in ring stuff, he was just a big man kicking ass.
Anyway. That's my take on it right now. I'm a lifelong fan but I really feel like they're losing me right now.

I'm banking only on a few things here. Big E will save us all. He must win the WWE title and he will make WWE TV fresh. Hopefully with his old theme back, Jeff Hardy is booked well too. He can be the people's champion. Nox and Shotzi need the titles ASAP. And finally, Balor has to HAS TO be the one to dethrone Roman. That title reign has to end.

Now? Shit it has been that way for years I'm just more interested in the black talent and certain story beats Pretty much this. I don't watch as much as I did from 2011-2017 which is when I really got back into wrestling after taking 5 years off. I treat it now as a "hey lemme read/see clips of what happened on Raw/SD" thing or a "I've got nothing to do lemme turn to SD" type of thing. If something is good then ok, if something is bad then ok, I don't really care like I used to and part of it is WWE but another part of it is wrestling as a whole. While AEW is AEW, they haven't "won me over" or anything and I treat them the same way. I just don't get mad because wrestling to me isn't as part of my life nor my interests as it used to be. I've got a career, I've got things going on I'm working towards, I'm just having way more fun with other areas such as music, games, anime/manga, friends, family, wrestling's there to the side. WWE's black talent and certain interesting storylines (Roman and his family) is really what keeps me around these days. WWE treats black talent better than any wrestling company around so given that I'm focusing on what they do. That's one reason why AEW hasn't really completely "won me over", their black stars don't really exist and compared to WWE they're shitty as hell with em. It means something when you turn on a program and see someone who looks like you and that's always gonna be one reason why I'm not fully locked into AEW. WWE on the other hand, you've got New Day (Big E just won the MITB), Lashley, Bianca, Sasha, Street Profits, Hit Row, that's just some stars but they're so important that I love it. It's so dope that I'm interested when I see what's going on with em. But yeah that's pretty much it. I treat it like I don't know, a regular game that I casually play and if they get an update I'll peep it but otherwise I'm mostly gonna turn it on every once in a while. That's how I like my wrestling these days.

That’s how I felt around 2005ish.
I haven’t gave a shit about anything or anyone in years. I almost got burned by the Summer of Punk, by thinking it would be amazing and a real turn but, they didn’t let me down by letting me down.
Now, great to amazing stuff has happened since 2005 but, it’s the exception not the rule.

For as much bullshit WWE does, I can look at their black talent and say damn they really on a diff level. Should not go undervalued that you can see someone who looks like us at the top of the card and thriving Hit Row might be the realest representation of a black sub group in a long long time and they are killing it

It's been really bad for a long time and things are catching up to them, at least ratings wise. They're still making stupid money so it won't matter, but the things everyone said would happen are happening in front of our eyes. It's SummerSlam time to bring in the real stars, aka old part timers. Now is John Cena a star? Yes, but is Goldberg? No. Build up your own talent. It's almost too late at this point, but you have to start at some point.

I'm honestly the least invested I've ever been which ironically seems to make for a better viewing experience? Like I basically only watch the PPVS since I get Peacock anyway and 5 hours of wrestling per week is just too much. I will sometimes watch RAW or SmackDown if I got nothing else going on. But I've found that being less invested and watching EVERYTHING makes me less angry and prone to overreacting and nitpicking. For the most part I actually find all of the PPV's enjoyable. There aren't any wrestlers that I can't stand to watch or get super upset at who wins or loses. I'm able to just kind of take it as is and go along for the ride.

I enjoy the shows and take them for what they are for the most part. I find that AEW provides me with more satisfying storytelling but I still enjoy watching PPVs, NXT, Smackdown and RAW. WWE's in-ring is still VERY good when everyone is inspired and NXT is usually still a damn good television program.

I’ve only watched the PPVs for a while now and it feels like I’ve missed nothing of importance. And that’s partially because half the matches are the same from one PPV to the other anyway.

For a while I hung on to NXT, but that stopped being good long ago. Then I tried to at least keep up with the high beats, just in fascination for the trainwreck of badness. Now it's just boring, and everyone behind the scenes is an odious person, and it's all kinda sad.

Even small stuff goes a long way. Hit Row feels like they're the new big group for black superstars after New Day and when I mean big I mean yeah these are the dudes. New Day represented for the nerd/black twitter side of things that make a large amount of us who we are. Hit Row's now doing it for our music side. Both different and yet vital.
White dude here, but I'm glad to read this. Yeah I was glad that's at least one area they're doing great in lol.

Yes, I just care very little about anything that’s going on. Checked out about halfway through Raw. And it’s been that way a lot of weeks. My biggest indicator is how little I post in the live threads. Just can’t even be arsed. And now I see that it’s not conversation, anyway.

Yup. I find myself watching less and less and not really caring. SD is long gone. NXT is on the back-burner and last night I didnt even turn the TV on for RAW. I was here and available, I’d just rather watch nothing. MITB did absolutely nothing for me to keep me engaged moving forward.
I’ll eventually cycle back in again, but right now the product doing nothing for me.
