At least these shitty 2004 cards were known a month or two in advance. How much notice did those poor fans get in the 1980’s?

My favorite part of this ad is "W.W.F. Tag Team Match" as a header. Trying to give it the weight of a title match even though it's a Wrestling Challenge squash with four guys who were nowhere near the belts. Also, Sherri as champion getting fourth billing on that list is an insult.

while some of the British only PPVs are not the worst, they where glorified house shows basically (European Title changed hands a couple of time at least)
though Capital Carnage had the dark match of Droz and Mosh and the second match on the card was L.O.D (Droz version) vs Headbangers
No Mercy featured Tiger Ali Singh vs Gillberg as well as Nicole Bass vs Tori

When the card indicates it’s being held in a high school gym, that’s an indication you’re going to be watching a mini-version of Superstars or Wrestling Challenge. Someone on an “old school wrestling” Facebook page posted a similar looking card like the one in the OP from early 1987 for a HS gym in NJ. It was also the first card he ever attended. The main event was Koko B. Ware vs King Kong Bundy. I think there was a women’s tag title match and four other bouts with the only notable being former WWWF champion Pedro Morales! Kind of a shame that after Wendi Richter left, women were relegated to C shows. My worst show took place at the Northlands AgriCom (an agricultural and expo centre; they couldn’t even book the Coliseum across the street!) on May 25, 1995. Enjoy. Tekno Team 2000 beat Tom Prichard & Mantaur Skip (w/Sunny) beat Barry Horowitz Hakushi beat Doink Man Mountain Rock beat Tatanka Jean-Pierre Lafitte beat Virgil Jeff Jarrett beat Razor Ramon in an I-C ladder match The Blu Twins beat The Headshrinkers (Fatu & Sione) Bret Hart beat Sycho Sid The ladder match and main event were the only ones worth the money. Two fans jumped the guardrail to attack Jarrett and the Roadie and they got their lights punched out! Razor then sarcastically congratulated Jeff’s ability to beat up a little old man! Funny enough, we got to have another ladder match in 2002, the one where RVD beat Eddie Guerrero to regain the I-C title and you may recall a fan trying to push the ladder and Eddie kicked him off. No more booking ladder matches for us anymore!

This was after Beefcake got spurred, isn't it?

Victory Road 09 is a pretty terrible lineup.
Minus the obvious, you had Kurt vs Foley in the Main Event. Beer Money vs Steiner and Booker who was past the level of caring and other duds such as Stevie Richards vs Abyss

I just came across this poster on twitter advertising a WWF show and I think it's one of the worst cards that i've ever seen for a major promotion. To think of all the star power in the WWF in 1988 and this is the lineup that some unfortunate souls got to witness. 😲 Damn they need to put this on the network. Koko B. Ware vs. Frenchie Martin is a main event in any arena. Absolutely!!!!

The lineup for the 1995 Great American Bash is pretty dire.
Alex Wright vs. Brian Pillman Dave Sullivan vs. Diamond Dallas Page in an arm-wrestling match Jim Duggan vs. Sgt. Craig Pittman (who also worked a dark match) Harlem Heat vs. Dick Slater & Bunkhouse Buck The Renegade vs. Arn Anderson The Nasty Boys vs. Earl Robert Eaton & Lord Steven Regal Sting vs. Meng Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage

The brand split made for some real rough PPV cards in 04/05. Looking through Wiki to refresh my memory, Armageddon 04 looks like a f***ing sad time. Everyone in this thread ignoring "Kurt Angle defeated Santa Claus via submission" is a crime.

To be fair, that is Tito headlining in New Mexico, which I am sure was on fire for him. Some would even say they were hanging from the rafters for old Chico Santana and his sister Arriba Mcintyre.

So that’s not too bad. And the crowd got to see Hulk Hogan…for 10 seconds on the preshow…

Good opener and great main event. Everything in between was awful. And it still went short. There's what felt like a 10 minute segment before the main of JBL slowly walking to the ring and accepting his fate.
