Why can't they ever bother to make a live action of an Anime that's actually feasible to do and won't break the bank like Ronin Warriors or Outlaw Star?

Detective Pikachu was one of the few video game adaptations that was also genuinely a good movie. Aiming for a similar vibe and having someone from Lucifer as showrunner make me interested in this, at least.

I was hearing doubts about their being a Detective Pikachu sequel, which is a shame because I thought it was a bit underrated (the scene where Pikachu first meets Tim had me dying in the theater at Ryan Reynolds). This could be a decent alternative if the second movie isn’t happening (and I don’t get why it wouldn’t, it was far from a flop).

Its not anything groundbreaking but it was a legit good movie. And unlike any movie direct by the guy that made RE/MH,it uses the world setting wonderfully |

I have my doubts about being able to do it well on a TV budget, even one of Netflix's, "F*** it, you get all of the money," ones, but Detective Pikachu was very fun so I'm at least open to the possibility of it.

Honestly the thing that I'm most wondering about a series like this is if they're going to be doing a side thing like Detective Pikachu was or are they going to be doing a story more like the games/anime with the Pokémon leagues and such.

Detective Pikachu definitely like a "proof of concept" movie for any future kind of live action Pokemon project, so here we are. Maybe they'll finally get Danny Devito to voice one.

I legitimately loved Detective Pikachu, so if they can get the same animators in for the Pokemon and carry over some of that world design, I wouldn't be against it.
