As with all new technologies there will be people who don't trust it, but in 20 years, maybe? Likely to be the accepted industry norm. You’re probably right but I still think there’s gonna be a pilot for the foreseeable future. This is one occupation that is heading this way whether anyone likes it or not, because of sheer necessity. calaero.edu/why-is-there-a-pilot-shortage/And this was written right before COVID accelerated the process.

a vast majority of construction work will still be manned, i know we have robots now that can lay bricks, but they still need dudes there to load the bricks into the machine, i doubt there would be a joinery/carpenter robot that could successfully build a house, get all the joists, trusses and walls in the correct place and still have room for cables, pipes etc. also plumbing and electrics, i can't see a robot thinking a cable run through and taking into account that the plumber has messed up and put the boiler 1m to the left of where it is on the drawing.
also groundworks, trench digging yeah sure, concrete pouring ok, but what about land restructure (cut and fill) i don't think an automated JCB is going to be let loose on a site any time soon.

I'm a 40 year old janitor. If there comes a time where literally every place that needs a janitor big or small can afford a good robot one, Ill be retired by then anyway.

I think we can safely assume within 20-30 years there will be a lot of these things out there, doing basic physical labour jobs.

Surprisingly, we're already kind of starting to go that way though it seems it hasn't caught on too well. There's a water based massage machine that's been out there for some time- I remember seeing it at a regional mall back in the early 2000's but never got around to trying it.

Those things are surprisingly refreshing. I haven't used or seen one in years but for a bit, it seemed like every mall or supercenter had one. Weird sensation the first time you use one, your brain (or at least mine did) makes you feel like you are soaking wet but you obviously aren't. The last time I was at the mall, which was probably 3 or 4 years ago, they had been replaced by the automated massage chairs, which did an alright job, but mostly just on the calves and between the shoulder blades.
