How much did Bishoff offer him so Hogan could get his win back ? Guessing he probably made about as much in the six months he was on WCW TV than he would have from the proposed five year WWF contract. If I'd have been Warrior I definitely would've gone to WCW for that sort of cash for just 6 months work. Plus the self destruction interview with Hogan, where he says he's furious that Warrior mentioned he beat him, still makes me laugh 😂. Like seriously, wasn't that the whole selling point of the match that the guy who'd beat him before has come back to end his reign 🤷♂️ Plus the guy who once told Paul Wight he's gonna Bury him like his dad (before Bossman digs him up I guess) can't say that 😂

I think some kind of offer was made. Probably not for that much but a good portion for some limited appearances. By 97/98 Vince knew what Warrior was and how unreliable and crazy he could be...but in small doses yea, he could generate excitement. So whatever went down behind the scenes it was probably for one 4-6 month run. Warrior didn't seem at that point to be involved in the business with regularity anyway It was for that much, $750k for five years is $3.75 mil. Wait, most people get a 25% cut on merch? I totally thought that was in the 5-10% range. That’s way better then I expected

From what I have read the real sticking point with Bret was not actually being able to afford him but the 20 year length of the contract. Supposedly Vince had been wanting to go public for awhile and potential investors hate to see long term stuff like that. A more per year but only 5 year deal is more attractive than a longer but less per year deal. 2 months after Bret got the boot, they backed a dump truck filled with money up to Mike Tyson’s house. It was never a monetary issue.

It was never a monetary issue. Thats what I'm saying. It was never about the money Bret was costing them, it was being locked in with such a long term deal. They tried their best to get Mark Henry to quit for the same reason. Vince also had to see that Bret was not important to the future (and that Mark was no good at the time). If he really wanted Bret he could have fixed things by asking Bret to take a shorter term deal.

I'm wondering if Warrior went back to WWE instead of going to WCW, what would happen in WCW, on one hand there'd be no match at Halloween Havoc but what changes, would they go forward with Bret vs Hogan, or just stick to Nash vs Hogan instead? Could that also mean Nash doesn't end Goldberg's streak? Or no finger poke of doom? Or would Scott Hall try again to get Yokozuna and he fills Warrior's spot to feud with Hogan? Would that also get Bret or Luger involved considering their past feuds?

To those curious, in todays money that would be $1,275,714.95 a year minimum, which adds to $6,378,574.75 over the span of 5 years plus 35% of Merchandise.
So that deal would put him in the top 10% of highest paid superstars in WWE today.

Honestly...though I think McMahon probably knew without a shadow of a doubt that there was no way Warrior was going to stay there 5 years. He was already fired three times.
