So Vince offered Warrior $750,000 for over 5 years in December of 1997. Now this draws a lot to the bullshit detector here. He claimed he couldn't "afford" Bret Hart only 2 months before this. So did this mean Vince essentially decided that Warrior had more value in the attitude era than Bret? So if the money is there, what's the point of the screwjob? Also, so you are telling me, Warrior was going to play ball, especially for the next 5 years with the likes of Michaels, Austin, HHH, Undertaker and The Rock to name a few? Was this going to lead to that heel turn that Vince wanted to do in 1997? I can't see this being nothing more but Vince not trusting Austin, not wanting Bret and wanting to go back to 1990. Could you imagine if Wrestlemania 14 was Shawn Michaels vs. Ultimate Warrior for the WWF title. And Warrior squashing Austin, Rock, Foley, Vader and Rock. This was THANKFULLY one bullet that was dodge. This man signing to be apart of the attitude era, single handedly might have sunk the WWF. Hot take.

Warrior in the Attitude Era? You know what that means....
RUSSOFIXION THREAD!
Let's Russofy Warrior in 1998!!!
So after Undertaker, Kane, and Foley all failed, Vince has a new secret weapon to get the WWF title off of Austin, and it is...THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR! Warrior gives a debut speech which in part reads as follows:
"For it was written in the texts hailed throughout all four corners of Parts Unknown, that the normal world would fall into ruins, and it was prophesized that the one true Warrior would come and carry the crumbling rubble unto his back as all his Warriors escaped from the wreckage of obscenity that YOU STEVOSTIN, have created! Before he could not pay the Ultimate price for the prophecy to be realized, but now, the tithe offered by Mr. McMahon has proven to be substantial indeed! You, Mr. McMahon, were finally willing to pay the ultimate price so that I may return to the WWF! For in all your corporate power and normal wealth, you Mr. McMahon knew that sacrifices must be made to the Warriors for the Corporate Plan to finally come to pass. And so it is that I am here to rescue the WWF from the carousing, braggart, drunkard antics of YOU, STOCOLD STEVEOSTIN!"
(Of course this ends with Warrior SWERVING Vince, and bragging how, in a SHOOT promo, bro, he claimed to be there to stop Austin, but he really wanted the money that Vince owed him back in 1996.)
Either that, or...
Warrior reveals that when he was locked in the casket, as he was losing oxygen, he was hallucinating that the Undertaker was in there with him having sexual contact with him. And so he is finally back in the WWF...because he desires an Unholy Matrimony with the Deadman.
He follows Mankind around because he believes Mr. Socko to be the reincarnation of the Socko Warrior, his one time tag team partner in WCCW (yes, real thing), and worships the sock as a deity.
He comes in, well, basically being his public speaking/IRL self...only GTV reveals Warrior at his psychiatrist explaining that when Jake attacked him with his poisonous cobra, it awoke his fear of phallic symbols, hence his feelings about same-sex male relationships.
Or it's Russo...the snake attack reminded Warrior that he isn't really well-endowed.
SWERVE! Warrior was the Renegade all along!

The homophobic comments would be through the ROOF in 1998 if Russo booked Warrior vs. Goldust. H word, F word and so much more wrong. Thank goodness Warrior went to WCW in 1998!

Imagine if Austin gets thrown out of the 1998 Rumble mid-way through and Warrior is the surprise entrant who wins it all.
Something like that would never happen!

I always imagined he would be repackaged as "The Warrior" - No facepaint, just black jeans and boots. He would be in the Corporation.

I imagine Vince would want this to happen. Warrior was Vince's type but also he was a guy who would not allow Vince to have a say in his character or his career. Warrior kept leaving while Bret most likely would have stayed under any circumstances as long as it didn't involved Michaels being there. Bret was like a son to Vince but a lot of times father's don't so much put all their support into their own flesh and blood, they like other type of guys and may support them. But again, Warrior never let Vince have control and Vince probably mostly wanted to have non pun intended the Ultimate control of Warrior.

Ultimate Warrior would be a mix of his WCW character and a maniac that can’t separate the person from the character and Vince tries to get him committed just like how they try to commit Kane.

We're not about to do "Vince didn't REALLY want to push Austin", are we?

We're not about to do "Vince didn't REALLY want to push Austin", are we? Nah, I'm pretty sure Austin and The Rock would still get their push, Warrior would be around as an attraction and probably the larger than life personality with super powers in the same league as Undertaker and Kane, maybe that big name to help pass the torch to the future stars. Even Vince Russo wanted to bring Warrior around and he got angry when JR didn't sign him. With Triple H, well, not sure how that would work out. Maybe they'll settle their differences somehow, seeing Trips still becomes VKM's son-in-law, maybe Warrior would compromise as a favor to Vince. Now with JR and Dr. Death, considering JR's feelings and his insistence on making Doc that big attraction that Warrior is, not sure how that would pan out.

Warrior basically had two and a half good years in wrestling between 1989 and the first half of 1991
Beyond that he was dogshit and should never have been offered anything by any promoter.

We're not about to do "Vince didn't REALLY want to push Austin", are we? Depends how you look at it. In 96 he won King of the Ring because of the Curtain Call. He's not even on the Main show of Summerslam that He didn't really take off until his fued with Bret. He is started being pushed but then Owen breaks his neck in 97. Vince is gotta be worried about how much He can get out of him at this time. Eventually he'd have retire from that Neck injury anyway. But for Vince perspective he probably feels he needs an a fall back in case Austin can't wrestle.
