Her fate with WWE was sealed like a year ago with the issues over the social media. No way she could ever come back and no be humiliated any chance WWE gets.

Really goes to show how just how off the ball this company is right now especially creatively because even just a decade ago they would never have allowed this to pass them by.
I mean absoloutley nothing happened in the first 10min of the show....but Roman needed his f***ing geriatric pace of an entrance all the way through because heaven forbid he just start the f***ing show already in the ring.
10min that could have idk..WENT TO THE SCHEDULED WOMENS MATCH!
Every single f*** up is just further validation this company is being run like end of WCW of course only difference is WWE is saved by the fact they got money coming out of every hole.

WWE did her dirty and they are slowly turning back the women's division to what was before This was probably pointed out before but the list of people backstage was practically the entire Smackdown women's division and besides Bianca and Becky, none of them appeared at all. Like...how does that happen? I mean, we know how it happens, Pritchard is employed, but still.

Would it really have been that big a deal to forget kayfabe for a night and let the hometown hero wrestle face for one night on the eve of the anniversary of her father's death and one of the worst tragedies in the city's history? In front of her family all in the front row? Even if it was just a dark match, it at least would've been something.

And I'm trying not to put it in shallow terms because of the implications but it just all makes sense to just find a spot for it. Just have Vega come out, squash a local goon or fight Carmella in a dark match or whatever and the crowd would be happy and her family would be too. It felt like a misfire WWE wouldn't usually do in that regard, you know.

Just have Vega come out, squash a local goon or fight Carmella in a dark match or whatever and the crowd would be happy and her family would be too. It felt like a misfire WWE wouldn't usually do in that regard, you know. Herein lies the problems: 1. Zelina was scheduled to have a match presumably in between the Edge/Rollins match and the main event. Meaning, there was no reason to give her a dark match before the show "just in case" as there was no reason to assume she wouldn't wrestle. 2. Edge/Rollins went too long and there was not much else to cut from the show after it besides the main event. While they could have done that, the main event was also a title match advertised in advance and they'd still have to figure out how to quickly get the women into the ring and then have a short match for the sake of having it. Cutting anything before Edge/Rollins wouldn't have made sense, especially since the 10 man tag looked like it itself already had been gutted with there being no entrances and the match being about 4 minutes of TV time. 3. Madison Square Garden is very strict about its rules and curfew, meaning WWE almost certainly could not have added a match after the show as they basically HAVE to leave when they're schedule to leave. It's overall a crappy situation, but in terms of the structure of the show, the only reason to have it was for Zelina and not because there was any actual reason for that match to happen. In hindsight, they should have just given her a dark match before the show instead. But I don't think there was malice or anything intended, just a shitty situation that the strictness of Fox and MSG didn't allow them to remedy.

I mean, I'd just say they'd have better contingencies for these things but you might be right but then I wouldn't trust WWE time management if I asked Vince to meet me a street down from my apartment even if it only took him 5 minutes to get there from where he is.

Absolutely no excuse to not have her appear at all on the telecast.
For a show about 9/11, the person who suffered directly as a result of the 9/11 attacks was more important than absolutely anything else they featured.
For so many reasons.
It's more important than any main event booking or storyline or whatever. For as much talk as the company has said about "being there for America," they really showed their ass about that all being masturbatory horseshit.
We didn't even get her in a video package, or wrestling in a dark match when there was no television limitations.
It's disappointing, disgusting and in the greater context of how much they're exploiting "the company's 9/11 connection" among the worst things they've ever done. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say that.
There's no justification for their treatment of Zelina and no argument to the contrary.

So just tell Edge/Seth to take it home when they hit their time mark. They're professionals, they should be able to do that pretty easily.

Seth and Edge's match went for like three segments. I can get the excuse of it going over if it was like, some missed marks, or maybe someone got hurt, and it went over a minute or two longer than intended because they were getting checked out. But if it went over an entire segment, someone absolutely failed backstage.

Flat out broke my heart when she said her father’s name at Ground Zero after what happened last night.
I stopped counting on this company to do the right thing years ago.

Any excuse for something this common sense is too many excuses. Business, time cues, anything used to justify cutting Zelina here is doing WWE's heavy lifting more than they are. Like Chaz mentioned, the mere idea they'd book MSG on the eve of 9/11 and do not carve out time for the daughter of a victim to be on the show, let alone have a moment, it is beyond comprehension. It shouldn't have just been a segment, it arguably needed to have been a focal point from the promotion which hinges enough of it's identity on "Americana", at least enough to produce a documentary on how mightily they handled 9/11. Poor Zelina, man.
