What if Conor McGregor doesn't let his meteoric rise go straight to his head and become such an unstable asshole that it makes anyone embarassed to be a fan of him as a fighter? What if Gus Johnson was never the CBS commentator for Strikeforce the night of the infamous Nashville event? What if Seth Petruzelli doesn't knock out Kimbo "EliteXC Put All Their Eggs In My Basket" Slice?

1- If we're taking away Conor's ego we probably lose the Mayweather fight, meaning Conor would fight the intended Tony vs Khabib winner from 209. Because of the way Dana operates he likely holds Khabib responsible for the fight falling through, meaning Conor vs Tony takes place at 213 for International Fight Week. Because of Tony's tendency to start slowly and Conor starting well, I see Conor finishing him in the first two rounds. By the end of the year Khabib is ready to return to action and the match between the two at 229 instead takes place at 219, Khabib wins as per reality. Conor likely suffers the same career path. Not much changes from Conor's end; because of his star power he still has leverage over his opponents so I could see Cowboy still being the bounce back fight circa late 2018. He probably does run into Gaethje though, and I don't see that ending well for him.
2- Not much changes. CBS wanted out of the MMA game at that point and the Nashville brawl gave them the excuse they needed. Gus was a pretty maligned figure among MMA fans so outside a few lost memes there's little difference on his part.
3- EliteXC were in serious financial trouble before the Kimbo fight. Something like $40 million in debt. I believe Showtime were interested in purchasing the promotion, but had pulled out before the Petruzelli fight took place. The only thing that gets lost is Petruzelli's mini renaissance riding off his "Kimbo Killing" and a bit more buzz around Kimbo on TUF since he doesn't have the blemish on his record.EliteXC were always gonna go under though.

What if the Seattle Mariners kept it stars, Ken Griffey Jr., A-Rod & Randy Johnso. Then Ichiro joined them in 2001?

What if the Kings hired Chris Webber instead of Vlade as their clueless fan pandering GM?

Blazers draft Jordan to play alongside Clyde. Good ol’ drafting the useless big man instead of the good player at #2.

What if the New York Rangers players aren't a giant pile of dicks to a teenage Gordie Howe? Bullying him, stealing his food, making fun of him because he didn't know how to put full equipment on since he never owned it? Howe signs with the Rangers and what does the 1950's NHL look like?

What if...
Tony LaRussa had embraced the reliever in 1983 and not let starter Richard Dotson pitch the 10th inning of Game 4 of the ALCS? (Baltimore vs. The White Sox.) Ron Kittle told this same scenario while golfing with former O's pitcher Mike Boddicker. Mike knew...it was going to the Game 5 clincher with ace LaMarr Hoyt on the mound for Chicago pitching.

What if the California Golden Seals hadn’t traded the #1 draft pick to the Canadiens, and drafted Guy LaFleur? They may not have become a dynasty but they at least would’ve been competitive and maybe attracted enough fans to save the franchise.
What if Dennis Eckersley intentionally walked Kirk Gibson and took his chances pitching to Steve Sax?

Back then starters stayed in the game until they ran into trouble and that includes a tired arm. What did the White Sox in was them crapping the bed with runners on base especially Fisk, Baines, and Luzinski who were horrible in the series.

Blazers draft Jordan to play alongside Clyde. Boy that image is cursed. I do kinda get the Blazers drafting Sam Bowie. Back then, you always wanted to draft the big man, as back in those days, the best teams usually had an elite center. And Sam Bowie was more like Greg Oden, as he was a really good player that got screwed over by countless injuries. Also, they already had Clyde Drexler, who had a similar style to MJ. I don’t know how that would have worked. Would either MJ have turned into the GOAT if he had to share time with Drexler. Or would Clyde have turned into a Top 75 all time player. And in another strange what if, in the 1983 Draft, the Bulls at #13 drafted Ennis Whatley, and passed over Clyde Drexler, who went the next pick. Whatley was a journeyman and Drexler was a Hall of Famer.

What if Marlon McCree doesn't fumble the ball back to the Patriots after intercepting the ball on fourth down?
They would have had the Colts next in the AFC championship at home which they had a real shot at winning, then would have possibly faced Rex Grossman's Bears in the Superbowl.
(I think that's in the top five boneheaded plays in NFL history. If he'd done anything else but try to run it back, the Chargers would have almost certainly won that game.)

My big what if’s are Chicago Bulls related. One of the big ones is if Michael Jordan didn’t retire the first time, would they have won 8 championships instead of “only” 6? Probably not because even if they were better than the Rockets, it’s extremely unlikely for anyone to win that many, unless you’re the 60s Celtics. And Houston was always a tough team for anyone let alone the Bulls. But it’s fun to wonder. And of course, the big one is if Jerry Krause wasn’t super insecure and not break up the Dynasty if they could have won at least one more time. I personally think they could have beaten that Spurs team and they’d finally lose to the burgeoning Shaq and Kobe Laker teams. Then again, those Lakers wouldn’t have had Phil Jackson. So who knows. The Houston Rockets probably still win those two championships. That first year the Eastern Conference was still a brutal slugfest that was a war of attrition. They probably would have beaten anyone that year in the finals. The second one MJ was actually back for, plus many within the team became better in his absence. They needed Rodman to complete the return to dynasty.

What if Eli Manning was fine with playing for the Chargers? Well, I know one thing that would not have happened. Eli probably would have simply retired when San Diego drafted his replacement than play 1 season in an arena that has a statue of his brother at the front gate.
