Based on the amount of feedback in other threads, seems like I'm in the low majority that actually enjoyed the show. I think as a longterm NXT fan who's been watching since the very beginning in 2010, I can see why folks have negative and positive thoughts on the new version. But it truly felt like a hybrid of NXT throughout the years. Some of my appreciation thoughts on tonight's show are sticking to the new focus of the show. We got what they said they were gonna do, debut new young talent. Just like anything its an opportunity right now, can't judge anything off of just one night/match. The presentation and set also felt fresh and new. Can also understand why some have a difference of opinion but I think it's a step in the right direction to modernize the product and adapt. I also really enjoyed how the stories and characters of established NXT talent continued into this new format and hope they continue to integrate both new and old together. I know these next few weeks will have conflicting opinions but I think once they find their groove and tweak things a bit you'll start seeing the real potential of this new version. Would love to hear what you enjoyed about the show!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I thought the 6-woman tag, fatal 4-way, and wedding segment were all very entertaining, so I liked those. Some of the developmental talents like the Creed boys also look like they could be keepers.

It’s fine.
Aside from the stupid Vince isms like La Knight having a random match with some guy he ran into, and a tag match ending in dq to become a six person tag match, and Kyle oreilly bait and switch, it didn’t seem that much different than the usual rebuilding periods of nxt. The on,y difference is that every time you see a new guy, you wonder if he’s one of Vince’s projects out to squash an original

Wasn't my thing, I'll be honest.

It was fine, but I tend to give shows a lot more leeway than what they might deserve. It’s only really been this year when it’s started to wear down on me and I’ve started skipping shows.

They said hhh was supposed remain the booker, while Vince just wanted to oversee the look.
So hopefully, hhh will come back after he recovers and cleans up the booking as far as Raw like tropes

I also appreciated Andre Chase interrupting the wedding and going, "Did you say Andre Chase?" and everyone going, "NO!"
If they play their cards right, they could have a really annoying heel that people want to see get whooped with him.

I'll be a broken record on the first episode of NXT.
I think they did a good job making the CWC look bigger and more filled. I do think the show was too bright though which made it at times look they were filming a pilot to pitch a TV show.
And as I've said I do admire that the people in charge (rather Vince, Bruce, Johnny Ace whoever) basically came out and said these are the guys we want to develop so we are putting them on tv to develop.
Was it too much at once? Probably mainly cause the crowd didn't give a damn (though in fairness they haven't really cared for awhile) but I honestly got early NXT vibes where they'd throw someone out there with a gimmick, let them try it out, and see if it catches on.
Will it work long term? Dunno. Do I think for WWE's future it was the best decision? Honestly yes. Are fans gonna hate it because they see it as a slap in the face to what they loved about NXT? Yep

Having slept on it, I still think it was a pretty bad show, but I think I’m letting “Bron Breakker” stick in my craw too much.
The real issue I had with it is that, for YEARS, even though NXT was just another brand under the WWE corporate umbrella, it felt like a legitimately separate and distinct product that I loved to watch. That show was just WWE-lite in all of the worst ways for my personal wrestling tastes. And I guess it made me sad to see a brand that was my favorite thing in wrestling for so long unceremoniously dying like in front of my eyes, so my disdain for the show was amplified more than it actually deserved. It was really just a run-of-the-mill pro wrestling show.
That being said, if the WWE style is something you really enjoy, then that show was pretty good, and some of the new faces showed potential. I think the set looks really cool, if I’m being honest, I could have just done without the Dunn-signature camera work.

I have no issue with it becoming a developmental show. And there's some fun aspects to it. It's cool to see new names and some of the guys like the Creed Brothers are fun to watch. My main issue was that it was a developmental show but with RAW booking/formatting. The constant use of "entrance then something else", the DQ leading to a six man tag, advertised matches not happening, booking decisions that fly in the face of logic. I'm totally onboard with an OVW esque roster with solid production values. But you still need good booking and the show last night lacked that.

After seeing everyone's reaction to the wedding on here, I checked that out on YouTube. That was genuinely the best thing I've watched in NXT in years. Died at the "axe in the jacket" part of the wedding.

I liked the wedding but that’s a given with me loving love an all.The rest felt like they were trying to outdo AEW with assumed knowledge of people nobody knows.

Some of the developmental talents like the Creed boys also look like they could be keepers. just curious, what makes you think the Creed boys might be keepers? everything about them is generic. I could see if maybe they got to cut some promos and you have seen something from them there, but they havent shown anything really in the ring, they havent gotten to speak, they dont have a " look" and their attire is horrible

So far, the show overall hasn't left a good first impression on me, but I'll try to be positive here and highlight the good parts about the show.
-The 6-woman tag match was good stuff. Mandy Rose especially looked good coming out with a new look that fits her shift in personality. She also meshed well with Gigi and Jayne FWIW.
-The fatal 4-way title match was a solid bout and after a night of short squash matches, it was a very welcoming one. Though I wanted Pete Dunne to win the match, I have to say Ciampa isn't a bad choice to have as the new champ at all.
-The best part of the night hands down, was the InDex wedding. It was everything it needed to be and more. It was wholesome, it featured some comedic moments, and contrary to how wedding angles typically play out, it actually had a happy ending. Beth Phoenix saving the wedding was a good moment, Andre Chase interrupting the wedding & Odyssey putting a stop to it was comical, Lumis' first words were very memorable and Theory marking out like a son of a bitch was absolutely priceless. Just a phenomenal segment all-around.

I hated the set, the logo, the lights
It seems like something you would watch on Nick
It was the first week but you already can see the Vinceisms on the show
Also please get rid of the stupid "2.0" thing

The wedding was tremendous.
Although I don’t think it was anything special, I don’t see why some fans on the Internet are getting bent out of shape. NXT hasn’t been anything close to the heights it was from 2014-2017 in quite some time. And imo, the relaunch my take us to a style that more resembles that time frame

I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would.... even outside the wedding it's kind of cool to see them throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks.

I personally just feel bad for NXT's audience. That show was the absolute furthest thing from what I imagine an NXT diehard wants to see; I can't imagine too many sticking around after the next few weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if the ratings reached the 400s K or lower.
