Got nothing. Nothing even remotely trying to make up for the 18 months waiting and the loss of a two ring cage match. Might as well burnt my ticket cause f*** me I wanted to go to this show and not the NYC show next week

It's a shame you went in upset and it ruined your enjoyment of the show. I thought this card looked good and so did the Rampage and Elevation that went with it... but if your bar was at Blood and Guts and the only way you were going to be entertained was if you got something like that then well... I got nothin'. Hope it doesn't ruin your enjoyment of AEW as a whole.

But oh boy did all those matches need to happen in New York. Couldn't move one of them to NJ

AEW went through a whole pandemic and like... half of a completely new roster and show direction. They were gonna load Arthur Ashe because its their biggest crowd ever. It didn't even exist as a potential venue when Newark was announced. Idk... again sorry you were disappointed and let down. There's nothing more depressing than going to a live event and not enjoying yourself imo. The event looked like a super fun four hours of wrestling and some live goers here said they had a blast... just a shame you were let down by it and didn't seem to enjoy a single thing? Sorry that was your experience.

Again... sorry your experience was shitty and the show didn't live up to your expectations. Don't know what more else to say so I'll just bow out.

I went through a f***ing pandemic too what's that got to do with a crappy show if I can ask, other than not getting a blood and guts quality match what parts of the show did you not like? Matches were boiler plate. Promos were fine. Nothing amazing happened and I didn't wait for a filler show.

Bro I was at the show too and I had a blast, and I also waited 18 months. Yeah it woulda been nice if we'd had a match on par with the original Blood and Guts, but even though the show was largely there to set up next week, it was still a ton of fun in its own right. If you went into tonight expecting a PPV-caliber card when it was clear from the past week that wasn't gonna happen then you really should've just sold your ticket. You would've at least gotten some money and wouldn't have felt like you wasted your time.

So why did you go to the show, knowing you weren’t going to like it? I mean, I get being disappointed that Blood and Guts not happening, and that sucks. But surely you could have tried to enjoy the show and not be miserable at it.

It kinda sucks that we didn't get Blood and Guts, but I got to see Adam Cole, Sting, CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, FTR, Eddie Kingston, and Suzuki all of which would have been impossible 18 months ago. Sure the match quality wasn't really there tonight but the star power we got is unreal compared to the 2nd Covid show. Really the only stars we didn't get were Adam Page and the Young Bucks.

I'm more confused getting mad at something that wasn't advertised in ages, especially since the pandemic restrictions were lifted, not mentioned on any show, nor built up in any way, yet you went thinking that they'd suddenly be like "surprise here you go!!" without advertising it into the ground for weeks, nay, months beforehand?
You kinda knew you weren't getting Blood and Guts mate. Should've sold your ticket to someone who would have had a blast to be there.

Sorry but this seems a bizarre take to me.
You went into the show unhappy that the Blood and Guts show from 18 months ago was cancelled which is fair enough, but it's nobody's fault is it? You seem to think AEW needed to make it up to you as if they were the ones to blame for it not happening.
And then at the show you got increasingly angry and upset that stuff they never said was going to happen didn't happen.
I'm sorry you had a bad time at the show but your complaints seem a little unfair to me.

Wow talk about self centeredness, I would seriously kill to be at any WWE or AEW show right now and you, OP, are cryarsing about not getting catered to from something you bought 18 months ago when the world has been wrecked by a contagious virus

I mean, I'd sympathize if you were looking forward to Sasha/Bianca at Summerslam and they advertised it, it didn't happpen and there was, as far as I know, zero follow up on that at all (I don't even think we know what happened to Sasha because she was at the MSG show) but this? As others said, there wasn't any indication of anything different from advertised.
And it wasn't like you weren't making it clear for the last couple of weeks you weren't happy and I don't mean to be one of the people confused but I still don't understand why you went when it seemed like you weren't looking forward to it. You could have sold it and done something that would have made you feel better about it.

I get being upset but maybe gain a bit of perspective? I am sitting in a city that has been in lockdown & under curfew since June. I am legally not allowed to travel any further than 3 miles from my front door unless it is for work. I haven't seen any of my friends or extended family in person in months.
My local football team (see my signature) has a playoff game against our local rivals this weekend that is being played 2000 miles away. This is a game that would otherwise be played literally five minutes down the road from my home. AEW could have not run a show at all.

Like yeh I dont blame feeling like that
I almost had bought tickets to NJPW G1 finals ,so if I had bought then and then had to cancel,It would feel awful. And still sucks I likely never am going to be able to see one again ,given the timing it happens.

Please don't take my point as unsympathetic, since I completely understand buying a ticket for something and not getting what you paid for, but I feel like a global pandemic is the ultimate version of "card subject to change." In this case, I think I understand not booking a B&G match since they just ran one a few months ago.
May I ask if this show was a difficult commute for you?

I was a bit disappointed with the card going in but I at least had a great time. The one piece of feedback for AEW after tonight though would be this - they got to speed up the transition to Rampage. We got an Archer/Suzuki promo after Dynamite which was great but when it was all set and done - the first match for Rampage started at like 10:25 PM. And especially when you run on the east coast on a school/work night, you're going to end around 11:30-11:45 if you do that and that's just really late. We were still into the show by the end but more and more people left the later it got and I got home pretty late. It might be a growing pain with the start of these tapings but I feel like if they start the transition right after Dynamite, you can get it going around 10:10 and wrap it up by 11 if you transition things quickly.

I'm never going to begrudge anyone for their subjective opinion on a show, but I will say that I'm just jealous that a show even came to your area, and leave it at that.
