Makes the guy doing the move look bad, it confuses the crowd and just generally looks like a weak finish to try and save face while blatantly protecting someone in a terrible way

But when the guy taking the backrop gets his shoulder up at the last second and still loses because the ref is looking at the shoulders of the guy who did the move, it's great.

Which is a shame, because I love Yuji Nagata’s backdrop suplex pin finisher he’ll break out.

Since it’s an established finish for him it makes sense. In any most context it was used the back suplex was just a transitional move that wouldn’t finish a match otherwise. |

I wouldn't mind if it didn't happen every time.
In kayfabe logic, this move is screwing yourself over, and you have to keep both shoulders down to keep applying the move, unless you do it right, which in the west at least never happens.
It's like powerbombing Kidman.
