Family Ties wins. Here's the final match in the 3rd round. All in the Family www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBJXlnhcG14Air Dates: January 12, 1971–April 8, 1979 Episodes: 202 Cast: Carroll O'Connor (Archie Bunker), Jean Stapleton (Edith Bunker), Sally Struthers (Gloria Bunker Stivic), Rob Reiner (Michael Stivic), Sherman Hemsley (George Jefferson), Isabel Sanford (Louise Jefferson), Mike Evans (Lionel Jefferson), and Danielle Brisebois (Stephanie Mills). Premise: Archie Bunker, was a working-class family man who held bigoted, conservative views of the world. His viewpoints clash with nearly everyone he comes into contact with especially his liberal son-in-law Mike Stivic (or, as Archie delights in calling him, "Meathead"). vs. My Name Is Earl www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBAQoxLkKEgAir Dates: September 20, 2005–Present Episodes: 38 Cast: Jason Lee (Earl Hickey), Ethan Suplee (Randy Hickey), Jamie Pressley (Joy Tuner), (Nadine Velazquez (Catalina Aruca), and Eddie Steeples (Darnell "Crab Man" Turner). Premise: Earl J. Hickey, a petty crook with occasional run-ins with the law, whose newly-won $100,000 lottery ticket is lost when he is hit by a car. While lying in his hospital bed after the accident, he develops a belief in the concept of karma when he hears about it during the Carson Daly show. He decides he wants to turn his life around and makes a list of all the bad things he's done. After a few good deeds, his $100,000 ticket comes back to him. He sees this as a sign and, with his new lucky money, he proceeds to cross items off that list, one-by-one, by doing good deeds to atone for them. Vote away. It ends tomorrow at noon.

All in the Family wins in a shutout. Here's the first match in the 4th round. Seinfeld www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vvDzNt6QjoAir Dates: July 5, 1989-May 14, 1998 Episodes: 180 Cast: Jerry Seinfeld (Jerry Seinfeld), Jason Alexander (Georeg Costanza), Juila Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine Benes), and Michael Richards (Cosmo Kramer). Premise: While most television sit-coms to date had been mostly family or co-worker driven, none of the Seinfeld characters are related by blood or employed by the same organization; in fact, many characters were not employed at all. Like the self-parodying "show within a show" episodes of year four, Seinfeld was perhaps, more than other sit-coms, a "show about nothing." This is because the episodes' plots concerned themselves not with huge events or comical situations, but instead focused on the minituae annoyances and petty discussions of real life, such as waiting in line at the movies, going to eat, buying a suit and so on. vs. Scrubs vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoID=1178221235Air Dates: October 2, 2001-Present Episodes: 124 Cast: Zach Braff (Dr. John Michael "J.D." Dorian), Sarah Chalke (Dr. Elliot Reed), Donald Faison (Dr. Christopher Duncan Turk), Neil Flynn (The Janitor), Ken Jenkins (Dr. Robert "Bob" Kelso), John C. McGinley (Dr. Percival "Perry" Cox), and Judy Reyes (Nurse Carla Espinosa). Premise: The show focuses on the professional and personal lives of several characters working at Sacred Heart Hospital, a fictional teaching hospital in an unspecified American city. It uses first-person narration, unusually verbose characters, abrupt segues between subplots, breakneck pace, and surreal escapism (usually presented as the thoughts and reveries of the main characters), counterpointed by poignant scenes where the characters address how doctors deal with death and issues in their personal lives. The combination of these diverse elements distinguishes it from other series. VOTE! It ends tomorrow at noon.

Seinfeld.
I love Scrubs, but Seinfeld was revolutionary. In many ways, if it wasn't for Seinfeld, there may not have been a Scrubs.

Seinfeld wins. Here's today's match. Arrested Development (I had a hard time deciding a clip from this show because this is the greatest TV show ever, but I managed.) vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoID=633263383Air Dates: November 2, 2003–February 10, 2006 Episodes: 53 Cast: Jason Bateman (Michael Bluth), Portia de Rossi (Lindsey Bluth), Will Arnett (GOB Bluth), Michael Cera (George Michael Bluth), Alia Shawkat (Maybe Funke), Tony Hale (Buster Bluth), David Cross (Tobias Funke), Jeffrey Tambor (George Sr and Oscar Bluth), and Jessica Walters (Lucille Bluth). Premise: Michael Bluth finds himself forced to stay in Orange County and run the family real estate business after his father, George Bluth Sr. is sent to prison for commiting white collar crime. He tries to juggle the wants and needs of his spoiled and eccentric family while being a good role model for his teenage son, George Michael. vs. The Simpsons www.youtube.com/watch?v=o45ONDY9WwkAir Dates: December 17, 1989–Present Episodes: 389 Cast: Dan Castellaneta (Homer Simpson, Grampa Simpson, Barney Gumble, Krusty the Clown, Groundskeeper Willie, Mayor Quimby, Hans Moleman, Sideshow Mel, Itchy, Scott Christian, Kodos, Poochie, Louie, Bill (KBBL DJ), Assistant Superintendent Leopold, Captain Lance Murdock, Big Rich Texan, Squeaky-voiced Teen, Blue-Haired Lawyer, Arnie Pie, Mr. Teeny, Yes-Guy, Rabbi Hyman Krustofski (ocassional), Charlie, Gary, Santa's Little Helper and others), Julie Kavner (Marge Simpson, Patty Bouvier, Selma Bouvier, Mrs. Jacqueline "Jackie" Bouvier and Aunt Gladys Bouvier), Nancy Cartwright (Bart Simpson, Nelson Muntz, Todd Flanders (and occasionaly Rod), Ralph Wiggum, Kearney, Database, Maggie Simpson (rarely), Lewis and others), Yeardley Smith (Lisa Simpson), Hank Azaria (Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Moe Szyslak, Chief Clancy Wiggum, Comic Book Guy, Officer Lou, Carl Carlson, Dr. Nick Riviera, Snake (Jailbird), Kirk Van Houten, Luigi, Bumblebee Man, Captain McCallister (Sea Captain), Superintendent Chalmers, Professor Frink, Cletus Spuckler (or Del Roy), Disco Stu, Duffman, Crazy Old Man, Drederick Tatum, Legs, Raphael (or Sarcastic Clerk), Akira, Doug, Johnny Tightlips, State Comptroller Atkins and others), and Harry Shearer (Mr. Burns, Waylon Smithers, Ned Flanders, Principal Seymour, Otto, Reverend Timothy Lovejoy, Dr. Julius Hibbert, Jasper, Lenny Leonard, Officer Eddie, Rainier Wolfcastle a.k.a. McBain, Scratchy, Marty (KBBL DJ), Dr. Marvin Monroe, Kang, Kent Brockman, Gil, Herman, Mr. Largo, Judge Snyder, God, Sanjay Nahasapeemapetilon, Benjamin, Mr. Prince (Martin's dad), Jebediah Springfield, Frankie the Squealer and others). Premise: The series is a satirical parody of the "Middle American" lifestyle epitomized by its title family. It lampoons many aspects of the human condition, as well as American culture, society as a whole and even television itself, being famous for its frequent use of self-referential humor, and meta-references. The Simpsons itself has had an impact on popular culture. Catchphrases have been used in real life and the annoyed grunt d'oh has been accepted into the English dictionary. The show has been cited as an influence on many adult-oriented animated sitcoms in the late 1990s, such as King of the Hill, South Park and Family Guy. Vote now. It ends tomorrow at noon.
