Sure alll the reviews say it's great and 8 million people play it. But what do you the wrestlecrappers think? If you want a game with good PvE and crappy PvP, get WoW. If you want a game with fun PvE (not exceptional) and awesome PvP, get Dark Age of Camelot.

I guess if you like MMMMMMMMMORPG's. Which I don't. I tried the eight day trial and the most interaction I got was "lol" and "ok". I just threatened people with high levels until they wanted to fight me and then told them "You ain't ready, son" and danced away. LOL. That right there is why I stopped playing City of Heroes. I wanted an immersive RPG experience. What I got was 1500 Wolverine ripoffs all dancing and saying "lol kk". I made the mistake of creating a female character once and had like 100 people following me around at any given time "hi asl?" "ur hott" rofl... I had so much fun in City of Heroes with my friends. I even got my then-gf into it, which was a mistake since she made a character on my account and then thought she didn't need her own CoH is pretty fun if you only want to fight NPCs. The PvP in that game is lacking. Also, no endgame. Log 90 hours into a character and then guess what? Nuttin to do.

I recommend anyone to get WoW.... it's a good time waster, if you have time to waste.

I've tried it at my friend's house, thought it was very fun. Though I don't know, maybe my opinion would change if I had it full time.

I play it...but take breaks. I never paid the subscription with a credit card. I opt for the 60 day gamecards they sell in Best Buy. I usually play for two months, take a break, play another two, etc. You don't really fall behind because people are making characters all the time so there's always someone at your level to play with. Some people play insane and have level 70s all geared out in less than a month...it's been 6 months for me and I'm at 53. It's fun, just enjoy in moderation to make it last longer.

No. Don't even think about purchasing World of Warcrap.
I thought my stepdad was addicted to it, but my stepsister and her husband came down here for the week and I think her husband quits playing to crap, eat, and sleep. Plus since they're only here for a week his comp is in the living room and he does not shut the f*** up with that teamspeak crap. It's a pain in the ass. I hate Blizzard Entertainment and hope they all get the worst possible kind of herpes that won't kill them.

I mostly still play it cause I've supported Blizzard since the start, it's cool seeing levels and monsters and being like 'I remember them'

Well I don't know if any of this has helped me make a decision. But it certainly has covered the vast spectrum of opinions on it.

Well I don't know if any of this has helped me make a decision. But it certainly has covered the vast spectrum of opinions on it. Honestly, it just comes down to who's opinion you relate to most. If you think you're going to get completely addicted to it and kill yourself with a lack of food and crapping, maybe it's a bad idea. If you just want to play it as a way to kill time, by all means get it. If you've got a bunch of friends who play it as well, it can be a lot of fun. It's all up to you!

Well I don't know if any of this has helped me make a decision. But it certainly has covered the vast spectrum of opinions on it. Joker, let me put it to you like this: Reasons I didn't like World of Warcraft: I wasn't into the game universe. I didn't like the graphics, they felt cartoony to me. I didn't like the player vs. player content. I didn't like the endless raids. Reasons why World of Warcraft appeals to others: Bright, colorful world that sets the mood right. High-fantasy races with a Blizzard twist with a definite animosity between the two sides. The player vs. environment (you versus the computer enemies, or PvE) content is well-thought out and interesting. The quest system is concise and enjoyable nine times out of ten. There are a lot of people that play, so grouping is not all that hard. There are more reasons why WoW is such a phenomenon, not least among them is that Blizzard strives to provide a great product, but I think I've made my point. If you enjoy player vs. player combat more than player vs. environment combat, I do not think that World of Warcraft is for you. If you like player vs. player combat more than player vs. environment combat, I highly advise giving Dark Age of Camelot a whirl. I'm taking a break from it in a couple days, but it's a very, very fun game when you get into it. Sieging castles with hundreds of other players either defending or helping besiege it.... oh, it's a blast.

Well, I played FFXI for around 3 years and WoW for the last 3 months, so I can possibly give an idea into the two of them as they compare to each other.
In FFXI you need a LOT of time. Parties in the level 60-70 range can take anywhere from 4-8 hours just to get one level. FFXI is a japanese game. It was there first, and I'm sure it'll end there. There is vast elitism and overt racism from both sides. FFXI is a group game. You need to party to get most things done. Only one job can normally solo to the level cap of 75. FFXI has a TON of content.
The WoW playerbase is younger and generally less mature than FFXI. WoW is EASIER than FFXI. Unlike FFXI, User created add-ons are supported by Blizzard. Getting XP is much easier than FFXI.
I can't think of anything else at the moment.

Most overrated, elementary MMORPG ever.

Pros:
- It's a total blast to play with your friends, I only play the game if there's something in it all my friends wanna do.
- Good way to pass the time if you have time you need to pass. And I tend to have a lot of time to pass, not so much anymore but when I first got into it.
- Some pretty cool people on there sometimes, most of the times not so cool people who will make a bigger deal out of things than they should. Some very unresponsive people too, you can tell the ones who are on there constantly from the ones who play casually VERY easily.
Cons:
-Why World of Warcraft and not World of STARCRAFT? A lot of this game feels very unoriginal. Ohhh, a medieval MMO? How original!
-Boring enemies sometimes, spiders in video games are one of my biggest pet peeves as enemies in a video game, actually insects all together, ACTUALLY most wildlife, ESPECIALLY in an MMO can be VERY BORING to fight. What's satisfying about killing a spider? Or a giant beetle? A boar? There's zero fun in fighting those things. There's a stegasaurus in some cave that somehow knows how to silence magic spells...things like that where it just seems like the game developers are flat out of ideas. "Okay what kind of mob should we put here? Dinosaurs...okay what do they do..."
-Some things are really tedious, I just don't bother with it all together, professions like herbalism, fishing, cooking, I don't know how that's fun for anyone.
-Again I think the developers of this game have some creativity issues. There are some dungeons that are really fun, but then there are some that are just blank dark caves with no real fun factor to it.
I like the game in small doses, when I started I was in love with it but once the thrill of it kind of leaves you it's hard to appreciate for me, none of the scenery is really mind blowing, the majority of people on the game take the game pretty serious and have a sense of humor that strictly revolves around Chuck Norris, and nothing about the game really feels unique, it's just another MMO with swords, shields, dragonslaying, and the marvellous cutscene at the start of the game doesn't help knowing that the actual fighting in the game isn't half as cool.
It's no fun for me anymore without friends.

IF you expect us to make your decision for you, it won't happen. Nobody on this or any message board can agree on anything. So for all your questioning, you'll get a lot of people who swear by it and another who swear against it.
I say, either find an R/L friend who has it and start up a character on his account to get a feel, or d/l the 10 day trial at their site. If that seems like too much work, then don't buy it... that simple. If you're honestly, seriously interested in seeing if you'll like it... do that, and judge for yourself.
I'll admit, I'm not as "educated" on MMORPGs or video games, period, as a lot of my fellow nerds here on this thread.... but honestly, the most glowing recommendation I can give for WoW is the fact that I absolutely *HATE* all RPG games, I *HATE* leveling up, looking for items, conserving mana... all that crap.. but I love WoW.
