Are we gonna ever gonna talk about Tay Conti & Anna Jay’s “best friend” status?

Tay never accompanies her ringside. Anna was recently outnumbered with Bunny/Penelope & waits till Anna gets double teamed before coming for the save. Again tonight against Britt. Anna can’t beat the odds and Tay is backstage and after the match when Britt attacks her only then does Tay come out and she’s the #1 contender apparently.

She doesn’t want that birds eye view for the champ who’s title she’s going for?

Catering that damn good?

If Tay is facing Britt next I hope this is something they lean into. It might be as simple as they want to prove they can win without any help but Baker's cronies push them over the edge.

It annoyed me during the match that she wasn’t out there with Anna. I get that “You want to do it on your own” but you know Britt is bringing Rebel & Hayter so why bother with that? It just made Anna & Tay look stupid imo.

I noticed too that after running off the heels that Tay didn't even care to check on her friend and was more concerned about holding the title up and making a point to Britt. Made it look like she had ulterior motives in that it seemed like she didn't even care about her best friend and that the only reason she "saved" her was to get herself noticed by the champion. Anna coming to the ring for Tay's singles matches even if they are squash matches against cans where she clearly has things in well in hand while Tay can't repay the favor when Anna is facing the WORLD CHAMPION who also has back up of her own also seriously makes Tay look like bad. Definitely seems like their friendship is a one way street.

I do get the feeling that it is leading to a breakup unfortunately probably with Anna turning on her and costing Tay the title match at Full Gear. I wouldn't be a fan of it at all as I think there is big time money with them as a tag team and think both are natural faces. On the other hand though they don't seem to be in any hurry to start women's tag division with belts so I really don't know what else either can do. Doesn't really make sense to have a tag team when there's no belts and nothing for them to accomplish.

I think people are reading too much into it. It's just the usual face vs. heel stuff. AEW does the same thing with other heels where the buddies at ringside cause distractions and the faces are on their own. Unfortunately, "lawful stupid" happens to be a common face booking trope as it just doesn't happen in AEW either.

The IInspiration would've been the only dedicated women's tag team they have if they went to AEW. All the others are singles wrestlers who team together when they need to. Like, I don't think they're going to have Anna turn heel on Tay or vice versa, because they can still be friends even if they're not a dedicated tag-team.

It's really an issue of roster depth and women's divisions are much smaller in every unisex promotion than men's. I don't think women's tag titles could work in AEW because I've never seen them work in any other promotion that wasn't exclusively women. Even Impact's tag scene isn't that good, and they have by far the best booked women's division among national American promotions.

In AEW's case, I think a secondary singles title serves the roster a lot better than tag titles would.

Honestly I think that's probably the only reason considering Cassie's husband is in AEW and I'm guessing they would probably pay more then Impact. Impact having the tag division was probably the deal breaker. If they signed with AEW what would they really do? Probably feud with TayJay out of the gates and then after that there really wouldn't be anything for them to do. They would just be two singles wrestlers who are friends and #5 and #6 on the heel depth chart and nowhere near winning any kind of title. To be fair though I think Impact kind of suits them better anyways and is better fit for their skill set as their division seems to be more gimmicky and character driven as apposed to AEW's which is more no nonsense.
