Well, that escalated quickly. Mayhaps we could all stand to cool our tempers and step back a bit from snapping at other posters personally? Also maybe give people the benefit of the doubt before assuming the worst, although that's a The Whole Internet problem more than a Just Here problem.

Everybody let's cool it. We all have our disagreements but is AEW really worth tearing apart each other? Its a bloody wrestling promotion at the end of the day.

I thought Britt's promo might be the worst one she's cut since turning heel content-wise. Her delivery was fine as always but I care who kicks ass better, not who has a better ass. I saw Tay body shaming Britt for not having an ass on Twitter and it's just not the sort of stuff that appeals to me at all. It's a shame too because I feel Britt is generally fantastic at making me care and Tay is someone who I enjoy seeing.

Wow, this place gets super heated sometimes lol
And to try and keep the topic on track, Britt is winning. Besides the title changes with the TNT title for the most part, AEW's titles usually drop during a hot angle or in a way that would be satisfying. This just seems like a filler title match which is fine. Tay deserves the match but she definitely needs more polishing before she takes it.

I mean, they managed to make Kenny's reign interesting even though by about March we all knew it was ending by dropping the title to Hangman.
They can do the same with Britt and the obvious rematch with Rosa down the line. But this Tay match just screams 'pad the title reign'.
I really wish they would've gone with Ruby at Grand Slam. She was on fire at the time, it'd would've been a huge moment in the main event at a huge show and would've given the divison a huge shot in the arm.
Britt could've pivoted to the TBS title tournament, or won the title back a few months later, or whatever. You can do the Rosa rematch over either title really.

I'd say more than anything, AEW needs to realize that shorter title reigns can be a good thing. You don't need long-term story arcs for every championship reign.
I still think Britt's great as champ, but yeah, this definitely feels like a filler defense. I'd be really surprised if she lost. That said, I thought there was no way Omega was losing the Impact Championship to Christian and he did. So maybe there will be a shocker.

Yeh but I think Britts reign has been very meh. But then again,I was tired of Britt even before she returned from injury

Yeah...Ruby definitely could have worked. It’s not an issue w/ AEW’s booking so much cause the arcs reaching their conclusive end is satisfying but a surprise/curve ball every now and then would help add that “anything can happen” aspect which is lacking here, for example. Christians win became a lil more obvious after it was announced but I did find Sammy’s TNT win surprising. I’ll eat my words if TayTay beats my girl though.

britt will be winning this. not enough of a build for tay to take it. at best tay might be able to sneak way with a DQ win if someone on britt's side gets caught cheating or maybe a countout if britt plays it that she wasn;t prepared for tay and takes the easy way out. britt isn;t going to be pinned or submitted in any way shape or form in the match.
but yeah the "chiseled in stone" thunder rosa beating britt for the title has pretty much ruined any anticipation for any title match before that time. best case is that rosa doesn;t win the TBS title and they go "directly" to the britt match for the next PPV.
as for the build i suppose they are playing it off that britt doesn't take tay seriously as a title threat because, in britt's mind, tay only got a title match because people like seeing her shake her ass. so tay will do the "earn your respect" thing by putting up a good fight forcing britt to use up all her tricks to sneak away with the win.

The rankings are really such a mess. People just get ranked whatever's convenient for whatever match they want to do today regardless of surrounding context, they constantly use it as an out to not have to tell a real story, and sometimes being #1 gets you a title shot automatically while sometimes they have clusterf***s or tournaments or something instead with no real reason given as to why each time's different. It's such a half-assed concept. yeah i always chuckle when i see some random person pop into the top 5 just before they have a match against someone else in the top 5 you know they won't be winning against. i'm like "ok you want the match to seem competitive" or "you want the winner's victory to seem significant" but the obvious padding is there. but at least they're still trying to apply logic for the rankings to some degree- like for the tbs title #2-5 got byes while #1 gets a shot at the "main" belt.

I missed Dynamite but did Britt even mention Tay at all during her promo on Dynamite? Reading recaps it looks like all of her interview was talking about her match with Abadon on Rampage while Tay wasn't even on the show at all and according to the spoilers just worked another Dark squash match. Looks like they know that everyone knows that it's a filler title defense to buy them some more months and aren't even trying to make it seem like anything more.

Britt, unfortunately. Tay is my favorite woman wrestler right right now, but this reign of terror by Britt is gonna last a long time.

Britt Baker is the Charlotte Flair of AEW minus the ten billion title reigns.

That actually brings up an interesting point, does AEW have a champions advantage rule or do count outs and DQ’s lead to title changes?

There's a part of me that wants to see Britt lose it unexpectedly just because you know the heel meltdown would be funny as f***
