AKA a dude who has been in the PC since June 2015 (over six years ago) and is only just having his first TV matches NOW. I couldn’t justify putting him in the rookie program. Like, I could get if you were someone who just came in and they needed people for a spot and you weren’t experienced because it wouldn’t be your fault. I don’t know why you’d accept that but I’d get it in that sense. I’d even accept if WWE just signed you and they an enhancement talent to fall on for a spot because, again, not really your fault. If you’ve been there for over six years and your first instinct is to move out of the way (and he was quick to go by the way)…what are they teaching you to do down there? They don’t need to do Jack Atlas-style drills, they just need to be shown and told this stuff for these televised spots.

It is wholely irrespsonible and really paints a shitty picture about these talents.
Von Wagon Wheel and whoever the guy dressed like a lumberjack seemed to be the only two that were actively trying to make any effort to be in position to help brace the fall , bananna dumbass blocked Victor Von Doomed though.
And no neck creed bros were completely off in their own f***ing world not paying a lick of f***ing attention.

Would you want to catch them on that dive? That looks way too reckless for me. I wouldn’t have booked that spot in the first place. That and the Io spot sure was a rough night at NXT. So that they don't crack their skull open and because it's your job to, yes, you catch them on the dive.

Shawn Michaels still regrets the time he couldn't save Marty from diving into that barber shop glass.

Pass interference: 10 yard penalty, and Banana guy gets sent right back to the performance center.

I think they're overused and usually look obviously staged. Like Jim Ross said, a bunch of people that just stand around waiting for someone to dive on them looks pretty phony. I like to at least try to suspend my disbelief. They should stop using them so often, and plan them out better when they are going to do the spot. It's why lumberjack matches are my least favorite match type.

Like, it feels like The Miz alone hasn't caught anyone in a dive and he's been there for over a decade now. I feel like I’m the only one who remembers someone legitimately saying he tried to kill R-Truth when he missed catching him on a dive one time. I know it was a pain in the ass for the mods, but just as a poster here, the Miz hate here was hilarious. I still laugh thinking about how happy people were when Kofi accidentally knocked him out for real.

This isn't the same spot, but on the subjects of dives lately I've also noticed that like 90% of times I see a cross body the wrestlers seem to aim for their opponent's head instead of their chest, it's freaky when it looks like they land full force on someones head.

Lance Storm was talking about this and how he hates multi person groups like this... part of the problem is there are so many people and most people just aim for the center...
Everyone in the group assumes someone else will catch him and the amount of limbs and stuff causes problems.
So it's better to aim specifically at one person (and likely tell someone BEFORE hand that you are going to aim at them.)
He also told a story of when Taker was doing his big dive into the group of WCW people Lance told him to aim for Hugh Morris... cause Hugh was great at catching people (one of the few positive things people have said about him!)

NXT goons got no excuse again it was just irresponsible like 10 of them can't brace 2 guys falling from like 3ft yet here is a guy flying from like 10-15ft ft higher and with distance can be caught/braced by two guys (mostly bael lol) with no issues.

Going towards Lance Storm's previous tweet, I wonder if this was easier to understand because both of them knew it was absolutely their job to catch Angelico. With that many people, maybe Jeet et al thought "oh, someone else will do it, I'll stay out of the way".

Bananas bruise easily, so I understand Banana Guy's reluctance.

This is why it's always better to have dives in ring as opposed to outside; the consequences of missing are generally less dangerous, and you get some amusing imagery out of it once in a while:

I wouldn't rly say this is a WWE problem in particular. I feel like all the worst "nobody caught him" moments I've seen were all anywhere but WWE.

Honestly, to cut Jeet a small amount of slack, I wonder if the banana suit cut his mobility any, in which case, he probably should have stayed on the outside of the mob to topple over, anyway, unless they figured it'd pad the fall, which, backing up was a bad idea, obviously. I do also wonder if these folks are just shit at judging trajectories.
