So, I checked out on TFS after they promised DBZA Season 4 and then cancelled it.
But I get a little nostalgic sometimes and get curious, has anyone stuck on board? What do they do now, is it working out for them?

DBZA shorts are ok, couple really great ones but that's it.
I'll admit they've been floundering since they canceled the series but I think COVID has scrwed that up. I just miss the TFS gaming Let's Plays with Lani, Grant, and Kirran.

Is it because they do their Let's Plays in the same room and not on Discord? Feels like a mighty big fumble to not be gaming and streaming a lot.

They did just restart TFS at the Table... which has been nice but Lani and Zito are the only two from the last campaign that came back. Hopefully they don't rocks fall everyone dies again cause that completely took me out of the first game >_>

They did an update on Reddit awhile back about their gaming situation and it seems like it's a bit of a mess.

They like missed the train at this point really. None of this sounds good, it feels like they hit a wall and when they cancelled their gateway program, nothing was properly in place to sustain them.

The shorts and Cell in a Hell have their moments but yeah it feels like they never really recovered from the final episode fiasco. I need to go back and watch DBZA again, even if some of the jokes have aged really poorly.

I have enjoyed a lot of their other projects.
TFS Unabridged started out a bit slow, but then the third episode with the Murder of Mr. Coffee was amazing. Hopefully they get back to that in the near future.
Time Wizards was also fun, but unfortunately, it sounds like Stephen won't be making more episodes of it.
I did enjoy their Among Us streams as well.

HFIL is okay. It's no DBZA, but it's still pretty good, I enjoy watching it at least.

The way I see it with DBZA, though, if they somehow managed to carry on with it, the only thing that would have ended up happening is either a) they somehow keep it running and dealing with constant channel closures and openings dealing with Toei or b) Toei just end up getting the channel shut down and we lose DBZA entirely. There's absolutely no middle ground here. And in that sense, yeah, I'd absolutely rather we kept what we got than them constantly stressing about that shit. There's no reason for that logically.

Yup, DBZA is in a very tenuous place legality wise and it was really only able to operate on the whims of Toei. Sooner or later it was going to be curtains

Toei is very, very litigious, so yeah, it's rough. (Extremely hypocritically so, if you ever look into the history of Gaiking.)
An example: They recently had a director for one of their Kamen Rider shows saying how he really wanted to have his series be one that catches on internationally and makes the jump.
Toei blocked it in the US and presumably a lot of other places. Shows about how much they actually believe in that, I guess.
One of my friends worked for Toei, working their booths at some conventions. She has literally nothing but negative things to say about the experience, particularly their total lack of professionalism or consideration for people working for them, so, yeah, Toei sucks.

Also even if they didn't have legal issues, there's still the fact that the Buu saga is the last and the show would have to end eventually. It's best to look to the future now instead of waiting for the end and then going "Shit, what now?"

Considering they said before it ended they have zero interest in doing Super…yeah, very much that too. and with Buu they mentioned that while they like it they don't love it. and here's SOOO much stuff in the Buu Saga that doesn't make sense that happens in the story that they'd either have to A. mock that what they're doing doesn't make any sense and they said that feels kinda mean spirited if you have to do it like every episode... especially when it's someting you actually enjoy. or B. write or edit so much stuff to make it work... and that is way more effort than they wanted toe expend ESPECIALLY with the Copyright issues they were having.
