I never read the article, but I do remember a WWF Magazine cover in 94 where apparently the cover story was that Ted Dibiase was going to buy Doink….for some reason. I don’t know if that was ever an angle on tv or not.

Never happened of course but a pre Montreal interview with Bulldog had him run down all the British wrestlers in WCW (Regal, Finley and Taylor) calling them "jokes" who weren't on his level. Russo had his fingers all over the magazine even after his promotion to writer so frequent shots at WCW happened (WWE/AEW "banter" with each other is nothing like MNW level yet) I guess if Montreal hadn't happened Regal might have come in a few months earlier to feud with Bulldog.

I don’t know if that was ever an angle on tv or not. Sounds vaguely familiar but they’d do that a lot for DiBiase during this time. Say he was looking to purchase this guy or that.

I remember one where Bunkhouse Buck claimed that Dusty and Dustin Rhodes had disrespected him at the gym, calling him "towel boy" and throwing their water bottles at him.
But it didn't end there.
Buck then went to a diner, and when the check came he was short. Before he could try to make arrangements to settle the bill, Dusty (who was also in the diner, it turns out) loudly said, "What do you know? The towel boy's a deadbeat!"
Supposedly this was the whole reason Buck came to WCW and feuded with Dustin.

Surprised I'm the first to mention the world title match at Wrestlemania 8.
Ric Flair giving him all these photos of him and Liz from when they dated, then the month after Wrestlemania them printing the originals which had Randy in which had been edited.
First thing that comes to mind for me in terms of a magazine feud, the world title at Mania.

I can't remember if it was WWE Magazine or just PWI doing booking fanfic but in like 03 one of them was heavily pushing the idea that Kanyon was going to become Mortis again over the summer and go on a tear. I do think Kanyon did some house shows as Mortis, so I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility they were toying with the idea.

Didn't WWF Magazine hint that Jack Tunney was forced to resign after he was caught accepting bribes from Ted DiBiase?

Didn't WWF Magazine hint that Jack Tunney was forced to resign after he was caught accepting bribes from Ted DiBiase? They ran an article where a photographer caught Tunney accepting a wad of cash from DiBiase. In a later issue, it was revealed that DiBiase was actually paying a fine Tunney had issued to the Million Dollar Corporation. DiBiase had paid the photographer to hide and take the picture to make it look like Tunney was taking a bribe.

I don’t know if that was ever an angle on tv or not. It wasn’t. The closest it got was Ted briefly mentioning the magazine article when he was doing commentary for the weekend syndicated shows. I think he said something to the effect of: "Not likely, but you never know every one does have their price after all."

The magazine printed photos of Bossman after Nailz attacked him. I feel they may have shown them on TV as well but maybe censored. A little hazy on it.

I love all of these. Some of the early attempts at synergy with the magazine are pretty neat, too, with video packages related to the Victory/WWF magazine stories and the Wrestler's Rebuttal where (usually) heels would dispute the stories in the magazine on Challenge.
