For what it's worth when I was putting this together I was copying it from the Extreme Rules thread and as such I nearly posted it as Edge vs. Miz vs. Sheamus. That sounds like a way more interesting match.

Kind of wonder how this show's going to look because right now there is still a gigantic amount of tickets available for it, especially at ringside and in the upper decks.

I could happily go the rest of my life without ever seeing another Roman vs Brock match again.

Though this will be the 5th 1-on-1 match between Roman Reigns & Brock Lesnar, the 5th 2-on-2 match between Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods & The Usos, & the 4th 1-on-1 match between Edge & The Miz, I'm still looking forward to the show. The matches are going to be great. It's a good way to start off 2022. Also, by having all of these re-matches, it gives me something to write for my facts, instead of the 1st of everything for 2022.

True but we've also seen the Saudi government pay millions of dollars for important things and end up getting Shane McMahon as the Best in the World. Shane's a draw, though. Much as we may hate him, he has big appeal to casuals. True, he basically saved Mania 32

I know there are many who wouldn't want to see them tango again however class night when they went at it, I felt invested despite how much it also felt worn down. Roman is such a great heel and Brock Lesnar talking is great. Like goldberg says everything is temporary so even when the rivalries we don't like happen, eventually something else will take its place.

I know the answer is probably, "Nick Khan wanted to put his own stamp on it," but it still flummoxes me that this isn't just called New Year's Revolution. Day 1 is just such a clunky, stupid title.

I agree, but also I feel like almost every New Year's Revolution was kind of a bad show so I can see why they stopped using the name.

I like the name "Day 1" if it's for a show that's designed to feel like a reboot for the company. But everything from the graphics to the match lineup suggests a lot of the same ol'.

At least that stupid name, the tie-in song (sidenote, f*** Jerry Lee Lewis), and the constant EAT BALLS in the background that one's very memorable. Stomping Grounds is just as dumb as a name but also completely bland.

Shane's a draw, though. Much as we may hate him, he has big appeal to casuals. True, he basically saved Mania 32 Well...I wouldn't say he "saved" Mania 32. His jump was one of the only things people remember about that show, sure...but, it didn't save that show.

I think by saved it was financial wise. A lot of names went down with injury in late 2015 and weren't on the Wrestlemania 32 card (Cena, Rollins, Orton, Cesaro). I recall the story was that tickets for Wrestlemania weren't doing too great then had a big bump after Shane returned and that hell in a cell match was announced. I can't imagine basing a decision worth potentially thousands of dollars on whether or not there would be a Shane McMahon match but hey, it must have been a big deal for others.

If he meant it that way, than yeah, I can see it. I thought he meant quality wise...cause that show still sucked(as did like 98% of that match).

It turned out he was a big draw for that show.

So the show is a week from today. I have got to think this show has an "all-time low" interest level at this point.

So... The hell is this card actually going to look like with all of the ravaging COVID's apparently doing of the main event scene?
