This isn’t so much a narrative, but just a gripe… The “Kicking too much ass” DQ, we KNOW that’s for not breaking at the five count, right?

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, and it's not just the IWC, I've even seen wrestlers do this.
Acting like TNA was always just some small time fed is something that annoys me.
I'm not putting down AEW, but it bugs me when people say "it's the first big non-WWE American promotion in 20 years!" Or acting like it's the first thing to really challenge WWE.
I understand LOLTNA, but from like 2006-2010 they were getting pretty damn big. They were on national television and while not getting WWE numbers, they were getting some respectable viewership numbers.
They had big names like Angle, Sting, Nash, Booker T, Foley etc.
Fans at one pointed started a TNA chant on Raw one time, with Vince sitting right there.
And, lastly, WWE was at least slightly threatened by TNA. Vince put them down in an interview as "reprehensible." That guy from the Highlanders got fired for attending a TNA show.
And how did WWE respond to the Hogan debut? By bringing back Bret freaking Hart after 12 years.
TNA wasn't going to be putting Vince out of business, but people act like it wasn't actually having some serious momentum before Hogan/Bischoff/Dixie/Russo/whomever else screwed it up.

That Nia Jac was never over. During her brief face run when she won the title she actually was drawing crowd response as an underdog overcoming bullying mean girls with a body positive message. And she was even showing a little growth in the ring. It was after coming back from her injury that she seemed to stop caring and got downright dangerous in the ring.

She also had a couple of really good ppv matches with Ronda at that time (2018 I think). They had surprisingly good chemistry.

I've always figured that Ronda being the one woman on the roster who Nia Jax would never dare sandbag or potato had a lot to do with why they worked well together.

It's such a small thing but one that annoyed me was how for years the IWC acted like Samoa Joe was ruthlessly mocked when he went to NOAH and all the fans and commentators were laughing at him for riffing on puro moves in his matches there, and constantly repeated it. It was crazy how everyone was suddenly apparently fluent in spoken and written Japanese and knew exactly what was going on, but only for that specific situation. I actually went back and read imageboard posts and stuff on other blogs and forums and almost everyone was super into Joe. There were just a few people saying they didn't like him using other wrestlers' moves, but he was also playing a heel so him landing an Emerald Flowsion on Misawa and saying "Nuh uh, that's my own original finisher the Island Driver" was leaning into it even more. Also you can just...watch the f***ing matches and maybe I'm missing something but I don't hear anyone laughing.

Correct me if I’m wrong: Nia didn’t start getting dangerous in the ring until after her injury. I’ve long suspected the sudden shift was a combination of her just not being able to perform at the same level after a potentially career ending injury-but also her just plain losing motivation out of bitterness; just when she finally seemed to find her star, she had to be taken off the road and by the time she got back the roster had changed do seismically that there was no recapturing her momentum. And I do think at some point it set in that thanks to her familial connections she was untouchable and she just stopped caring.

I'm pretty sure there is some middle ground between 'putting over the Japanese title more' and 'utterly burying the American belt to Japanese press' Right, had he said something like, "I have never won the IWGP world heavyweight title. It would be a tremendous honor to win it." or something along those lines, no one would think anything of that. Which would be funny considering he was the first holder of the original IWGP championship back when it was just a thing that the pre-G1 IWGP league winner challenged for every year.

Weirdly enough, Nia requested a run against Ronda because Ronda had been hurting Alexa by being too rough, and either of them stiffing the other would be mutually assured destruction.
