Honestly I’m somewhat into this know. It gives off Orange Cassidy type of vibes. The fact that she can actually wrestle helps a lot.
Also I could see this gimmick getting over with younger people in particular.

I just want the fact that she went from housing an ancient evil spirit to being a chronic sleepyhead to be canon.

Not only is she a heavy sleeper, but she'll also eat all your meals.
Also, now I want Zaxby's

I’m convinced whoever came up with this gimmick has no clue what narcolepsy actually is. I heard Wade mention it on commentary and if that’s what they’re going for here they’re really missing the mark. There have been wrestlers who were narcoleptic, most notably Mr. Hughes, who if accounts are accurate could very well fall asleep in the middle of a spot.

She dodged an attack by stretching. Awesome.

I want to hate this gimmick so much but she actually pulls it off. Never seen anyone hit such crisp moves in a onesie.

I want to hate this gimmick so much but she actually pulls it off. Never seen anyone hit such crisp moves in a onesie. It's a stupid gimmick but with that said I actually like it better then Mei Ying in that at least in this gimmick as silly as it is it does actually allow her to show off what she can do in ring. I never saw any of her stuff in ROH or the indies. All I saw of her was when she was Mei Ying so I just assumed she was kind of rubbish. However last night when she hit those flurry of moves I was like "wow she's actually really good". It does seem like basically a lamer version of Orange Cassidy with her coming off super lackadaisical and seemingly not caring only to turn it out that's it just a ruse to lure opponents into a false sense of security and then she snaps into action and reveals herself to actually be very skilled.

I had no clue where it was going until we saw her in the ring. Now I’m in 100%. It just works. It’s really great and there’s a lot of fun places to explore this for maximum effect. This could be a huge hit on the main roster. Like every supernatural character, there’s only so much you can do with a gimmick like that. I was already really bored of it, it was like the writers had no clue either.
God, it pains me to say it but 2.0 is really growing on me and it actually does feel like the characters are more three dimensional than the last couple years of NXT.

It seems like a weaker version of Orange Cassidy suffice to day.

It seems like a weaker version of Orange Cassidy suffice to day. It's weird, because like I get the comparisons, but as a presented character, Wendy Choo actually looks and acts way perkier than Cassidy ever has. Cassidy has a very cool and chill aura about his character where he plays into peoples heads and is a secret savant at wrestling, where Choo quite literally dresses in Pajamas and falls asleep anywhere she pleases. When she is not sleeping however, she is shown to be very emotional and exuberant, and perky, Cassidy is almost never ever that, he's outwardly (Important to note outwardly) uncaring in most situations The gimmick needs more fleshing out. She sleeps, she has explosive in ring ability, she seems cheery and rambunctious... does she fall asleep mid move? What perks her up? Why is she like this? The gimmick at surface level works right now, but I feel like it definitely needs firmer legs for the characters motivations and gimmick, which I hope it gets. I've seen gimmicks like this start out real hot and tank because there's no adaptation or addition to what's introduced, hope she gets that... I don't trust Bruce to do it though.

Wait:
Was Karen Q seriously a thing?
Cause that might be just as cringey and belongs on the indies where sponsors, et al wouldn't care.

Being fair, Karen is her real name and the use of Q is probably more an attempt to invoke Maggie Q as opposed to anything related to that particular political movement.

If her real last name does start with a Q, I'm guessing it's hard to spell or pronounce, which must be why she abbreviated it to an initial.

This gimmick is everything I love in wrestling.
It's supposed to be stupid like this. What's the point in having her show up in regular gear and be a "good rassler"? You need to stand out and this gimmick does that.
Having her be able to go like crazy in the ring is another good aspect. I don't believe in gimmicks "limiting" the ring work but I still wish every wrestler had one.
I was initially angry they ditched the Mei Ying gimmick but Wendy Choo is actually better and will get way more over, I'm sure of it.
