So the new year is almost here, and the records that AEW posts for most of the wrestlers on their chyrons will go back to 0-0. Presumably, this is a good time to take wrestlers or teams who might've had a bumpy previous year and set them up for a solid push or rise up the card, going in with a clean slate.
That being the case, who on the roster now stands to benefit the most from the big reset? I suppose this can go along with the "2022 Predictions" thread given that it's kind of guessing who'll be getting a focused push moving forward, but just focusing on this aspect of things. I'll take a stab and say:
-Bear Country: seemed AEW brought them in with the idea of getting them over pretty quick (not too hard given their size and ability), but Boulder getting injured and missing a good chunk of time obviously threw plans off. Now that both guys are healthy and good to go, I think this ends up being the year they get themselves into the tag title scene. Won't necessarily win the gold in 2022, but will get their chances.
-Kiera Hogan: she hasn't been given real direction yet (something I believe she's stated publicly) and didn't come in with the fanfare and notoriety that someone like Ruby did, but she's clearly talented and capable, so I think there's a good chance that the record reset and the arrival of the TBS title will be a wide opening for her to get some time on the main shows as at least a strong midcard presence to begin.
-Wheeler Yuta: assuming he's in for the long haul now, Wheeler came in to fill in with Best Friends and to add to the technical wrestling presence for the promotion overall, but that's meant he's largely been Best Friends' designated pin eater for awhile, while still getting some good showcases. Not sure how quickly it'll happen, but I do think he'll get some higher profile chances to shine this year and break out a little bit more.
So I mostly went with "people not getting big pushes right now who I think will be in line for them soon" as my metric, curious what you're all thinking.

Yuta, Garcia should benefit from it
basically any of the upcomers that started as a jobber could see a sudden start in wins.

Andrade will probably look a lot more impressive when he's not walking around with a 66% win rate. He might be the least protected upper end name they've got.

For me, someone like Garcia. And with Garcia getting a huge win on last Rampage, he has some momentum to build on for next year.

A lot of the undercard will benefit huge. People like Garcia/2.0, Yuta, Hogan, Blue, Fuego, Angels, Bear Country among others will greatly benefit from the reset, as will Andrade for the Cody and PAC losses this year. Wingmen could also use the reset as could Angelico and Evans.

I could definitely see them building Bear Country to a tag title shot. I don't think they win it, but I could definitely see them getting a shot given their look and style.

They absolutely despite Evans with all their might and are willing to wait for him to quit or retire before Angelico finally moves up the ranks.

Angelico is not exclusive to Jack Evans or he wouldn't have had several Dynamite TV matches, and the notion that they "hate Jack Evans so much that they will never push Angelico until he's gone" is gonna make me have to ask you to take the tinfoil hate off dude.

I love this records idea.
It makes it feel like a new season when everyone resets to 0-0-0.

Honestly, felt like the records reset didn't do much last year. It helped Red Velvet, I guess, and it technically facilitated some tag title shots for Butcher & Blade and the Varsity Blondes, but it really didn't feel like AEW got much mileage out of the concept. That could be a learning curve thing, or it could be a holdover of pandemic booking where as many wrestlers as possible were "kept strong" record-wise in case they needed to be pushed in someone's absence. Regardless, the yearly record reset feels like a strong tool to give multiple midcarders year/season-long journeys, when instead it feels like everyone is booked in an eternal present of "they win, mostly, by default, except when they don't."

Danielson will be glad to have two ties erased. He really has a thing for ties. Just ask poor Justin Roberts.

Also with the arrival of KOR, the reuniting of that whole thing, Bobby Fish will also benefit from records resetting. When he first showed up, he was the veteran guy who looks credible but loses most of the time. His role probably is being elevated now being in a major trio and also being involved with the Bucks.
Of course there’s a chance he could still have the of the guy who gets pinned whenever they lose a match. But overall he’s in a better spot than he was just a few months ago.

Yeah, he'll likely eat the pin whenever ReDragon loses (e.g. the way Blade usually takes the pin instead of Butcher), but if there's a solid year or more of ReDragon competing in the tag division they're no doubt going to get a serious push so they can at bare minimum be legitimate tag title threats. Alan Angels may be a guy on the border for this, too; he's still plenty young so you can argue there's no rush to get him significantly higher on the card, but getting him out of his V mask does seem to indicate he might be lined up something that might change his standing to some degree.
