This Rumble feels like the answer to, "How come they never do this and this?" like having the guy at 30 come out with almost no one in the ring. Turns out, it's because it's kind of boring!

This Rumble feels like the answer to, "How come they never do this and this?" like having the guy at 30 come out with almost no one in the ring. Turns out, it's because it's kind of boring! You can’t do that “#30 wins by default” gambit now, no way. If a babyface does it, it’s one of the flukiest, most unearned wins of all time. At least with a MITB cash-in they still have to actually wrestle a match, and also wrestled a gruelling ladder match (in most cases) to win that privilege. If a heel does it, well… I thought y’all were sick of heels winning stuff, and then down comes some heel, probably not a cool one, but one you legit hate in that “I don’t want them on TV” kind of way, sauntering into the ring to win a WrestleMania title shot without one punch thrown in anger? I… I mean, WE will never hear the end of it. It’s like when Lesnar won MITB but times 100.

This is the Rumble where R-Truth eliminated both Big Show and Mark Henry together right?
One of the more forgettable Rumbles.

I never understood the praise for this one. After Punk goes it really is downhill, and so few people in there for a reasonable length of time.
Why the f*** did R Truth get to eliminate Show and Kane???

I don’t know but now I’m going to go watch the match because I can’t say I’ve watched it many times since I saw it live.

I do remember not really caring for this one when I watched it. I mean it certainly wasn't like 2008 & 2009 where a mass of bodies are in there but to be honest when I watched the Rumble as a kid I loved counting the number of people and seeing how many they could fit at one time. I think those Rumbles were why they kept the 2010 one so empty: after doing 2 in a row that was crowded throughout, they decided to switch things up.

So I put the 2010 royal rumble on the network and just looking at the chapter marks for the event I remember more than I expected.

This is an odd Rumble match because the big picture stories in it are great. The Punk segment is fun and Michaels’ desperation is told so well. But it’s like not much thought was put into other potions of the match.

I hate Royal Rumble matches where one guy keeps throwing wrestlers out before the next one enters. It's boring and not what the crowd want to see. They want to see the ring packed. I know it's probably a terrible idea but just once I'd like to see nobody get eliminated until #30 enters. Have all 30 in at once.

I wasn't a fan of this Rumble, especially following 2009. I loved 2009's Rumble, and I liked how full the ring got during it. Pretty much my feeling on it. It takes away from the impact if everyone is getting thrown out within 2 minutes and the ring never gets full. 2009 almost everyone looked strong from lasting a long time and the finish with the 3 legacy members and HHH was a different ending for a Rumble.

I like the crowded Rumbles so this one felt a bit rushed and empty for me. The newz at the time was the feeling that fans don't like long Rumble matches. Which if true shows how out of touch I am with fandom!
Although I am a big fan of the 2002 Rumble which never goes above 6 people in the ring, ever, but all of those people (bar Booker T) got a moment or time to exhibit themselves. Even Test who was in and out before the next guy was nearly in the match 2 minutes (many of the intervals are between 2 and 3 minutes) and so it flows really well.
Whereas 2010 doesn't have the in-ring build up and it also doesn't give the people it does have time to breath. So its always been a bit worst of all worlds for me.

Thinking about the 2010 rumble it does have its good moments (Punk, Beth, HBK eliminating HHH, Edge’s return, HBK’s desperation in trying to stay in) but the meat of the match I just don’t like at all. I think it would have been better if the ring filled up after HHH’s elimination
