This always kinda struck me as an odd choice. It's not even like '95 where they had the minute-intervals as an excuse to quickly burn through entrants.
Also, as if you needed any indication ECW was getting phased out, all 3 of their representatives in the match don't even amount to 2 minutes of in-ring time.

That Rumble was booked poorly especially after HHH was eliminated.

I've heard a lot of praise for that Rumble but it's one of my least favourites.
The best part of it are the stories with Punk at the start, HBK trying to win so he can face Taker and Edges surprise return but everything else just feels shoehorned around it. If i remember right there were a lot of guys who barely lasted anytime in it at all.

I saw it live on PPV and it just felt off.

I don't know if they would have cared at all enough to shorten it based off of this, but I remember criticism that the 09 Rumble dragged so I could see this being their response.
No matter the reason for the shortness, they did go too far the other way, with way too many guys running out just to get instantly eliminated.

That was the Rumble where the get ring only ever had about 6 people in at once right? I hated that one. I think it was to compensate for 2009 having 15 people at the end.
I am also still annoyed at Kofi not being treated as a bigger deal in that much after coming off his big moment at SSeries.

I remember there was a really good triple threat match on Superstars which Chris Masters won to qualify for a Rumble spot (which sadly amounted to only like 30 seconds).
I've been meaning to dig that match up and rewatch it. I'm sure it's on Youtube somewhere.

I rewatched the 2010 Rumble on Peacock last night

Scott Keith loved this rumble for some reason. I believe it was all the CM Punk thing he loved.

I do remember not really caring for this one when I watched it. I mean it certainly wasn't like 2008 & 2009 where a mass of bodies are in there but to be honest when I watched the Rumble as a kid I loved counting the number of people and seeing how many they could fit at one time.

I remember my interest in the match just completely dying once the Punk segment ended. And Edge winning was a nice sour note to end it on since he'd always sucked as a face and, surprise, that run also wound up sucking.

Batista made the final four of the match just by virtue of entering at #30 with only three people left in the match. With everyone that wasn't at least on the fringe of the upper-card getting eliminated before the next entrant was out, you couldn't really do much once the Rumble gets to the end phase where everyone is already in.

I wasn't a fan of this Rumble, especially following 2009. I loved 2009's Rumble, and I liked how full the ring got during it.

Yeah, it was a weird Rumble. John Cena wins the iron man by “only” being in there 27 minutes, with only another six guys being in there longer than 10 MINUTES.

I really hated it and never got the praise it got. Seems like this board is the only place on the web that shares my opinion. Just way too many guys getting eliminated way too quickly and looking like geeks. Miz and MVP eliminated in seconds. Jericho, Ziggler, and World Champion in a few months Jack Swagger eliminated in just a little over 2 minutes. Kofi who was really hot at the time and getting a big push eliminated in just a little over 3. Like why? Of the 30 particpants 20 were eliminated in under six minutes.
People often complain about too many guys being in the ring boring but I found the way they booked 2010 boring too in a different way just in how repetitive it was. Unless they were one of the few guys really high on the card it was just guy comes out hits his signature spots and gets tossed in short order. Over and over. There's been years where they went too extreme the other way where they were too many guys in the ring too much and tons of guys doing over 25 minutes when they had no business doing so considering their talent and placement on the card (91, 98, and 09). However I don't mind it as long as they don't too crazy with it as it actually feels like a Rumble and guys are fighting to stay in.

I hate Royal Rumble matches where one guy keeps throwing wrestlers out before the next one enters.
It's boring and not what the crowd want to see.
They want to see the ring packed.

I hate it when the ring gets too crowded like it did in 91, 03, and 09. The 2010 Rumble was the other extreme and I didn't like it.
