It's sad to think we'll probably never get a retrospective documentary on this era because I'd love to hear more about these things behind the scences. I would love a look at the backstage situation basically from the 2014 Royal Rumble onward. Just give me everything from the rejection of Batista and departure of CM Punk through to present day. It would be amazing. We'll never see a damn thing of it

While I feel terrible for talent, the sheer ineptitude of Retribution's whole run still makes me laugh whenever I think about it. Raw Underground generally came off as boring, but the week-to-week lame presentation of the supposedly fearsome stable was so awful it eventually became darkly funny.

Wasn’t there also a thing where Mick Foley introduced a “Raw-er” third hour of Raw that also vanished really quickly?

We'll never see a damn thing of it I think it'll happen but that won't be until at least 5 years from now when they'll be comfortable enough to document their failings like they did with the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression Eras. Like, just recently have they been like "aight, we f***ed up a lil during that Ruthless Era lol."

Wasn’t there also a thing where Mick Foley introduced a “Raw-er” third hour of Raw that also vanished really quickly? Super Raw sucked.

I actually kind of liked Raw Underground because it was different --- even if it ultimately led to nothing

I'm not sure if there was a good way to book this daft idea, but if there is this definitely wasn't it. I mean starting off with a "point" would have been the smart thing. Just even something as simple as a tournament for like 3 million dollars or something...

I remember seeing a cool Tian Sha vignette on NXT that made me think that was how Raw Underground should've looked.

Wasn’t there also a thing where Mick Foley introduced a “Raw-er” third hour of Raw that also vanished really quickly? Yeah, the third hour being Raw Dark. Think it was for that week only. Dark as in no lighting of the crowd like the early days of the Attitude era. Which Vince/Dunn only did to hide the fact that the arenas were smaller, half full, or both. Apparently USA made a list of "improvements" they wanted, and the two least worst were the 24/7 championship and Raw Dark.

I am going to take a different approach to this thread and use it to say that I miss the tandem of Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke. There, take that.

It says a lot about WWE's creative approach that they just kinda lobbed this out there on TV with no plan or point to it, to the point they aired a segment showing the Hurt Business 'taking over' and then next week there was no mention of it. Especially crazy is that was a pair of Raws taped together. They taped that segment then immediately forgot about it when it came time to film the next show immediately afterward.

"We're changing plans mid-taping , ignroe the things we just filmed, but also put them in the edit anyway because who f***ing gives a shit anymore" is the most modern WWE decision to make.

You know what? Props for them trying something somewhat different. But, as per usual, it was really poorly executed. I would agree, but does what they did really pass as trying? It was a half baked idea that they had no story to go along with, and it got dropped almost immediately.

Not only was this a flop creatively but it wasnt worth it for the wrestlers. Riddick Moss got injured and was out several months, Ruas got injured and was never seen again until he got cut...
