www.ewrestlingnews.com/news/information-on-how-many-peacock-users-are-watching-wwe-content“A new report from Puck has revealed various details about WWE’s viewership figures on Peacock. According to the report, over 3 million subscribers to Peacock have watched WWE content since the content was moved to the subscription service back in March of 2020. Not only that but of the 1.1 million subscribers to the WWE Network in the US, 1 million of them retained their subscriptions when it moved to Peacock. Finally, the report notes that over 50% of the 3 million Peacock subscribers who watched WWE content on the service had indicated that they signed up for the site because of its WWE content.” Well, then. Maybe the deal did make sense for both ends?

I mean, if you can get fans to come for the WWE content and stay for episodes of Columbo and Law & Order: Criminal Intent like I do, it works out.
By the way, Columbo revival starring Kevin Owens, anyone?

Looks like corporate spin. Smart move for WWE to get the bag,but 3 million watched "some" wrestling could just mean someone who feel asleep watching a Fast movie and then watched 5 minutes of A WWE doc that autoplayed after. Every single official financial announcement from Peacock has details a them losing money in the hundreds of millions, granted that's not all or even mostly on WWE. But 1.5 Million people they give( And this is a generous number because only 1.1 were WWEN subscribes people) paying the 5 dollar price for content that cost Peacock 200 Mill a year doesn't net a profit in fact it loses 110 million, you would still be in a net loss if all those WWENetwork subsribes were paying the $10 price. Unless they can get some kind of content that crosses over culturally like Game Of Thrones/Squid Game it's hard to see how Peacock will even exist in 4-5 years

It's been nearly two years since they switched to Peacock? Crap, the pandemic has altered the hell out of time.

Hang on... the WWE Network services were moved over to Peacock in March 2021, not 2020. If the article can't get a simple detail like that right, it makes me wonder about how accurate it actually is.

I guess I was one of the few who didn't bother migrating to Peacock lol. The glacial pace of them uploading old content was enough for me to not care about subscribing or bothering to join Peacock. I just use my brother's account if I want to watch since he has it for soccer purposes...

It doesn't account for anyone that has Xfinity gets Peacock for free...that's a ton of people that likely watch that aren't paying and wouldn't pay for the network.

I mean, yeah, it's the only choice for American fans, and they don't even have to put out either a good app or good content. NBC and WWE both win.
Guess who is the only losers?

At this point that is the only reason I watch anything WWE on Peacock. If I was a paying subscriber I would have cancelled it entirely long ago.

The move to Peacock will never seem like a success to me. Its just proof that the WWE network didn't have the appeal they thought it would so they had to merge it with something successful.

I resorted to using the 3-month subscription when I had the Network and renewing it when the time came.

I get Peacock free and still refuse to watch any WWE content on it for fear I'll be included in their "look how many watch!" stats. You ain't getting me!

I used to work in market/audience research and I can promise you that 50% of no user base in the world, nor even 50% of any segment of the user base, indicated or responded to anything. 50% of people who agreed on sign-up to market research still wouldn't actually do the call if contacted. There's zero chance in hell; those numbers are being either completely misunderstood, or presented as something they aren't.

I've become very skeptical when it comes to these streaming statistics lately. Often they just don't add up or are purposefully deceiving, like Netflix and their viewership numbers.

If anything I think Peacock was considered the bigger failure and the WWE deal was supposed to be helping Peacock.
