Yeah, he’s done really well against great ring generals like Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano, but, and I know this sounds like moving goalposts, “Can they do it on a cold rainy night in Stoke” logic, but the real test will be against the guys who aren’t at that level, the Von Wagner types of the roster. Good for him, though. Yeah, I mentioned this in the live thread but at the rate their going their gonna be expecting him to be the veteran hand in matches by like his 20th match and that concerns me. Throwing him into the deepend is one thing, but they better have a strong game plan to bail him out if he starts to drown. He’s got all the tools to be a huge star, but if they f*** up this NXT title run by sending him out to have stinkers with other rookies, it could be a disaster.

Feels like waaaay too soon to me, and don't really have any idea who he feuds with unless they seriously strap a rocket to Waller, but we'll see how it goes I guess. Oh, they've hit the nitro on the rocket they already strapped to his back. I suspect a call up to the main roster within this year

The fact that it’s supposed to be developmental makes this make a bit more sense as well. Developmental guys should have been winning the nxt title on occasion. Crazy this is the first one since Bo Dallas won it from the only other homegrown champion in 2013.

Time for a big time title feud with the returning Saurav. If he’s anything like his old partner, that time won’t be until 2024.

On another note that table bump was nuts. Sure it was gimmicked but it still looked cool as hell.

I hate the sound of Rex Steiner, the x sound into the s sound just bugs me. It would be a play on their actual last name "Rechsteiner," because that's how "Rex Steiner" would be said for just that reason. I kind of like it because of that. What I don't like is a dude named "Bron Breakker" doing all the Steiner moves, but not having the Steiner name. Like, is he gonna hit the "Frankenbreaker" in addition to his "Breakker Recleaker" that finished this match? It's just dumb. I hated it when they had "Michael McGillicutty, the son of Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig, and the grandson of Larry the Axe Hennig" and I hate it now.

I really haven't kept up too much since the rebranding. I see a lot of people saying it's too soon but look at the original NXT. Big E was severely underdeveloped when he won. Bo had just found his footing. Neville wasn't a character. Kevin Owens just came in. Finn wasn't there long. Nakamura was still new without much of a character. Roode tried to be glorious. Black lost the title on weekly tv to quite possibly the most over character.
Give him a chance. Some characters just need the title to get them a little more credibility and with that comes more exposure and more tv time, more mic time and more time to show their personality.

Someone had the stat… Breakker is the first 100% homegrown NXT Champion since Bo Dallas won it… IN MAY 2013. And he’s only the third one in the whole 11-year lineage of the belt (The other being Big E). Every other NXT Champion has been a name of known repute prior to their signing to NXT.
Also marks the first time that both the NXT Championship and NXT Women’s Championship are on 100% homegrown talents at the same time.

Sometimes you need to take a chance. I’ve seen too many promising talents wasted because WWE wasn’t willing to commit to trying to push them. I’d rather try and fail and just not try at all. That sort of feels like the entire aura that NXT 2.0 is aiming for. It feels like they're phasing out a majority of the Gargano/Ciampa/Undisputed Era generation, either via promotion to the main roster or release, and they're replacing the existing, established talent with debuting or repackaged wrestlers, then hurling it all out there to see what sticks. And honestly? That's how it should be. NXT was excellent as this utopian e-fed back in 2014-16, but we knew it wouldn't last. WWE needed to produce fresh talent, and, especially with the advent of AEW, they couldn't replenish the roster by just buying up every indy talent around the world. You've got to make your own stars. Sometimes it hits, sometimes it misses. If you look at NXT 2.0 as a sort of evolutionary FCW, you're going to have guys like Roman Reigns and Big E and Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. But that also means you're bound to have guys like CJ Parker and Jake Carter and Brad Maddox. Some will be the guys you'll build your main events around, others will never break out. But you've got to take chances.

It’s developmental and I’m always gonna be in favor striking while the iron is hot. You can always go back if it don’t work out but you’ll always be wondering “what if” if you let it slip.

I really dug it.
Bron has no negatives right now in regards to being champion. He's young, he's got the look, he's got the promo ability, he can work well enough to be champion, the storylines have pointed towards it and overall he gets it. Usually when I think if someone can be champion I look at everything. Like, an Omos doesn't have the wrestling ability nor promo ability to be champion. This guy though, I mean what else can we say? Sure, we can say it might be too early, sure we can say he's not some Sami Zayn level talent in the ring, we can say a lot of stuff.
But in this new NXT? He's got it. He's the guy. I look forward to this reign.
And bruh, when him and Melo face off for that belt? That'll be fire.

People also forget that WWE pushed guys like Angle and Brock to the top right out of the gate on the Main Roster as well. They were world champions within their first year.
Women like Charlotte and Alexa as well.
Now I am not saying that Bronn is going to be the next Brock or Kurt, that’d be absurd at this point. But if you think you have something special with him, try it out.

That was an underwhelming finish.
Beating Ciampa should've been more hard work than a bulldog and a Camel Clutch.
