I never thought anything could be worse than Craigslist but leave it to Facebook to prove me wrong. The second you post an ad you get messages from scammers. The real people who reply to your ads never bother to actually read them so it never results in a sale. Complete garbage. I am just going to haul some stuff to the dump rather than bother with dealing with this BS.

My sister in law LIVES for Facebook Marketplace. She says it's changed her life and she loves it. She also has zero money and lives in a house filled with actual garbage.

Yeah a friend of mine loves it. her family moved into a new house recently and she seems to be furnishing it entirely off Marketplace. Maybe it just sucks for sellers. Or maybe its just where I am at.

I've made some decent purchases on it but it's not my first choice for anything

I do ok selling on it but I get at least 5 to 10 "is this still available?" a day. I say ye it is then NOTHING! Like are you just seeing if I had the item still for kicks?
I have actual zero horror stories off MP. Kijiji which is a less dirty version of craigslist, I've meet some real winners off that lol

I sold my pool table like 3 years ago on it and I swear at one point, I thought someone was going to ask me to pay them to take it away.

I sold my car on Facebook Marketplace, and when I said "I sold my car", I mean, I had my dad do everything because that shit stresses me out. Trudging through the "I'll give you $500" messages and "Can you bring it to me" messages, no thanks.

I bought my Mini SNES off it. I overpaid but I wanted it, so I did it.
I looked up LJN figures on it, one guy had a JYD figure for sale. And I realized, stripped of context, if one didn’t know who JYD waa, this guy is selling a black action figure who is wearing chains….

I just bought a used piano from Facebook marketplace. A bit shady. Cash only. But we got to look at it first to make sure it was in good condition, the seller delivered it himself a fair distance, and it cost less than 1/3 what a piano store would have cost. I'm satisfied.

I was able to sell a few items I scrounged from my deceased grandparents home through it. Unfortunately, my mom took that as carte Blanche to unload ALL the old junk on me.

I don't even bother with FB marketplace bullshit, Mercari is my preferred Ebay alternative. Haven't had any bad experiences on there.

I only have done it once (put up gamecube & games) and it went pretty smoothly (Dude came up to my apt complex lot) but its still definitely something I wouldn't do too much (I've never done craigslist, so it was my first time doing something like this).
