i do find it ironic that right before AEW and then The Pandemic, NXT and HHH had this grand plan to branch out and have NXT's in all corners of the globe and were REALLY trying to cut into the Japan scene. Boy that died a death lol, glad it did too, considering how much of an afterthought they treat NXT UK. TBH, I think the independents will end up better in the long run because this never happened. Like yeah, we'll miss Black and Gold NXT, I will too, but with streaming and all the new ways to consume wrestling content, it's probably a blessing in disguise that every country doesn't have a WWE production. This whole thing was originally Hunter trying to replicate the Vince model with the independents.

Timothy Thatcher & Hideki Suzuki are the latest people let go Them letting go of Suzuki seems like such a bad idea if the rumors are true about upper (current) management being interested in someone like Giulia, since she worked with Hideki a few times and is really close with him.

The writing was on the wall for Regal when they changed their recruitment policy to hiring and training non wrestlers rather than hiring the best wrestlers in the world. Having an eye for talent means nothing when lack of experience is a positive.
As for Road Dogg, I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I don't want to see a guy dumped who has health issues, but on the other, he was a ***ty influence to have around young talent.

Diamond Mine are all about to suddenly be awful at grappling and then you'll know why Hachiman was there

"BLOOD & GUTS" might not sound as impactful, but I still want to hear Regal yell that on Dynamite anyway.

I’m not going to analyse the numbers and dollars because that’s never been my interest when it comes to wrestling.
But NXT was the best weekly television show under the WWE umbrella and gave a spotlight to talented men and women who wouldn’t have otherwise been treated like the stars they showed they are. It was fresh and exciting and freakin cool…and it’s rare something in WWE is cool. It helped revolutionise women’s wrestling.
And now all that is gone.
Thanks to the men and women who played a huge part in making NXT a success; and it will always be a success in my eyes. When WWE constantly made me question my love for this medium, NXT kept me around. Now? Well, this AEW thing is better every time I catch it…

I don't feel the slightest bit bad for Road Dogg after all the stupid shit that's come out of his uncreative mouth.

Yeah, that's the thing. NXT was critically acclaimed and highly successful before AEW came into play. It was not a "money pit" because it was one of the biggest draws for Network subscribers. It was the arrogant notion that NXT would just stamp AEW out of existence that has caused it to become the "failure" that it is. I'm not sure it's fair to put that entirely on Triple H's shoulders. It's equal parts WWE's out-of-touch arrogance, the unprecedented success of AEW as an upstart pro wrestling company, decisions beyond HHH's control causing NXT to lose pretty much all of its established talent, and the fact that WWE killed the Network we all knew and loved. I'd say one of the weirdest things they did was lump NXT events with the Performance Centre for the finances because, well, the PC wasn't ever going to make a profit. That's not how schools work, the costs are overridden by the talent they acquire, develop and put on the main roster or even at those NXT events. Of course they look like money pits if you're going to put them to those standards. If the NXT shows were under the same bracket as live events, a better story could really be told and it'd be in the same degree as how the live shows are. Like, if you want to put the Full Sale shows there, sure, but then you're putting the merchandise sales in there and those possibly can't override the cost of holding the PC which, and I need to stress this every time, is a money pit for a reason. If you charged for use of the PC, who'd go to the PC? Especially with NCAA graduates potentially going there, you're basically saying to them "Eh, UFC/Professional Sports is better for you, kid" from the off. We also have to acknowledge that WWE brought outside marketing and rating experts to determine if moving NXT to TV was a good idea. Turns out those people were wrong on their projections... but I still say the FS1 deal was best for NXT In someway the downfall of NXT mirrors some of the issues that Bischoff ran into after the Turner/Warner merger where spending wad relooked at, budgets were changed, and since losing to a competitor then people around were changed

Not that I think he's on the block or anything, but how's he now going to feel about working for the company that's just unceremoniously ditched his father after twenty years? Was it worth f***ing off that opportunity at the NJPW dojo?

This might be controversial but I just wanted to say William Regal is the best promo in wrestling history.
