This was on after Rampage on TNT last night, anyone watch it? I've read about the "legend" of Action Park, but after seeing the rides in action (no pun intended), and seeing how sleazy the owner was, I'm glad I never went (couldnt anyway, I lived too far away). Seeing the family of a kid who died at AP was just heartbreaking.

The uncensored version on HBO Max is even better. But yeah, Action Park was the stuff of legends here in NJ, for good and ill. I never went myself and I'm glad I didn't.
Class Action Park was both hilarious and horrifying at the same time for the same reasons.

I got the book, written by AP's founder's son. I must finish that.

I love how Andy Mulvihill doesn't even try to whitewash or look at his father's and park's legacy with rose-tinted glasses. He's like "yep, it was f***ing insane."

Went a few times when it was rebranded as Mountain Creek years after the infamy. I loved it. Very enjoyable rides. Especially the Cliff jump

I was disappointed with the HBO documentary.. seen Youtubers with much smaller budgets and resources make better docos on the park.
And it had such a tone shift.. they tried to make it funny with the talking heads saying how f’ing insane and awesome the park was, then they had to really tone it down when they had to mention the people that died at the park.
Just watch Defunctland’s video instead, covers everything and in less then 20 minutes too.

I just got done watching this. I remembered seeing an ad for this when watching AEW Rampage on Christmas night and it drew my interest. I don't know why it took me two weeks for me to finally watch it. Maybe it was because it aired last night after Rampage, and then I decided to watch it on hbomax.
I can't argue with the user who talked about the tonal shift in the documentary, but I don't think it was a bad documentary. However, I never lived in New Jersey and I had no idea of this park's existence until seeing the ad for this. Man, I know I have been to a waterpark before, but nothing of this caliber of insanity.

The Defunctland doc is still the gold standard.
Also kind of rich that decades later the Jackass crew decided this story was a good basis for their own fictional film with real stunts.
