Had someone recently explain what an NFT is to me. And I still don't get it.
But gonna try to create some Ultimo Gallos NFT soon. I figure if there is enough dumb people out there I can at least make some money off some of them.

Well at least Twitter made it easier to tell who's worth blocking.

Had someone recently explain what an NFT is to me. And I still don't get it. But gonna try to create some Ultimo Gallos NFT soon. I figure if there is enough dumb people out there I can at least make some money off some of them. It's a url, basically people are paying money for a URL in the hope they can sell it on to someone else for more money. You don't own the image the url links to, you gain no rights to reproduce and profit from it and have no legal recourse against anyone who copies the image, all you own is a spot in an incredibly slow database and the hope someone else may buy it off you for more money in the hopes of passing it along to another rube. Creating images to pump into this scam isn't some harmless 'free money' generating system, it's helping to perpetuate the environmentally catastrophic pyramid scheme that is the cryptocurrency ecosystem that's built on fleecing rubes and crime that is now using more energy than a lot of major western nations, produced by burning fossil fuels in most cases to boot. Seriously, people are taking power stations out of mothballs purely to mine crypto now because they want to line their pockets before the pyramid (or environment) collapses entirely. The amount of money you'd make from trying to cash in just isn't worth helping to perpetuate this BS, especially as we're starting to see the real world consequences.

People will now walk up to Bret with tears in their eyes...
...not because of his matches, but because they realized he just conned them out of several hundred dollars for a worthless digital certificate.

Yes, people who invest in NFTs do deserve to call themselves marks. Cause that's what they are. Marks.

AEW doesn't realize it yet, but they have a perfect opportunity to run an NFT-based angle.
Frustrated by a recent losing streak, Big Money Matt pays a fortune to some carny trainer for the "exclusive rights" to a supposedly killer move, but it's just a slight variation of a really common move that lots of people do, like a bodyslam or Irish whip. This makes Matt flip out and go crazy (again), eventually becoming Token Matt Hardy, angrily brandishing a certificate of ownership as he feuds with everyone who dares to use "his" move, demanding they DELETE! it from their arsenals.
Naturally, Matt is still backed up by the HFO, so to even the odds, the babyfaces form their own stable called the Right Clique.
You can have that one for free, TK.

Just to make it perfectly clear, NFTs suck and are dumb.

Just to make it perfectly clear, NFTs suck and are dumb. NFT also sounds like a shindy version of NXT if the events were held inside a coal plant.

This makes me think of the CHIKARA Special, and Chris Hero having to get one of the faces to betray the others by telling him how to counter it. In other words, I love it.

Lio Rush seemed to be running with a sort of crypto/money scam gimmick before things changed, kinda wonder if we'll see that again if they're rebooting him away from the Dante/Team Taz stuff

That is one hell of an unintentional self-own.

That is one hell of an unintentional self-own. It's one of two things, I think. One, it could be someone trolling. NFT trolls are obviously a thing, not the least of which reason being it's really, really easy to meme about and dunk on. Two, it could be someone trying to present it as a "we believe in the magic, we believe and make it real", which, yeah, is an enormous self-own. The value of anything that isn't a vital need like food and water is entirely tied into who wants it, who values it. NFTs and cryptocurrency are on incredibly shaky ground, and people who buy into it try hard to evangelize for it because without new buyers, it's going to die, and they lose their investments.

It fits the carny nature of boomer wrestlers like a glove. Mildly surprised it's Bret first on the bandwagon but expect to see Hogan, Flair, Nash and all the other usual suspects hitch a ride soon.

I feel like if any of them would escape this, it'd probably be Nash. If nothing else, he seems like someone who'd see the backlash and milk not doing it. Hogan and Flair, though, I'm honestly surprised they haven't been brought into it yet.

I'm still confused by it all think I'll dig out an Atari 2600 and some police academy VHS tapes and live in a happier world. I guess I have difficulty figuring out how people can spend stupid money on stupid shit
