3 men have done this, in 3 different ways.
Who was your favorite #1 entrant to win the Rumble?

I voted for Edge.
Random note: I'm tired of the first couple guys hanging around the entire match. It's been played out lately. We need a couple Rumbles where by the time 20 rolls around there's nobody from below 10 left.

I love Edge but hated him winning from number one last year. It just felt so unnecessary. That kind of rub wasn’t needed for him. Him coming in at number 15-20 and winning would have been completely fine, accomplished the same thing and been more believable.
At least with Benoit and Michaels they were career midcarders and them going the distance was a statement of intent that proved they’re the real deal now.

I went with Benoit, it felt like a war as he had to fight everyone from Raw and Smackdown and both rosters were stacked back then.

Edge because of the story of him having had a career ending injury and then coming back years later.

HBK by default.
Won’t vote Benoit for obvious reasons, and Edge didn’t have the crowd and there really wasn’t much a story there. He kind of was just there and happened to win.

We need a couple Rumbles where by the time 20 rolls around there's nobody from below 10 left. That happened in 2020. Brock was #1 and threw out everybody from #2 to #14, then got double teamed out by #15 and #16. I know it felt like Brock was in there forever, but it meets your requirements.

The Brock thing at least kept it fresh. My #1 complaint in Rumbles is the early guys laying around for most of the match. Well, maybe stop booking so many guys to be in there for a half hour+ if you have to have them laying around making everybody who doesn't try to toss them out look like idiots.
