In the final days of the black and gold brand, Mei Ying transformed Boa and Xia Li into dangerous competitors. Their opponents feared their capabilities and unpredictability of that alliance.
And now that NXT 2.0 is here, Mei Ying sleeps all the time and has left the dark side. She's Wendy Choo now.
First, this is telling of her character work how she can switch from one character to do a complete 180. But wow, what a transformation...
What do you all think of the transition in character? What would you prefer? What's Wendy Choo's ceiling?

I love both of them and I feel Wendy's sleeping problems are from releasing a 4,000 year old demon from her body. I'd be tired too.
Over all I give the edge to Wendy.

The name Wendy Choo is still kinda awkward to me, but as a character, she's way more over than Mei Ying, who had a good concept they never really cared to expand upon despite so much build

I want to see Boa and Wendy interact.
Some sort of easter egg required to link it all.

I want to see Boa and Wendy interact. Some sort of easter egg required to link it all. Boa bowing before Wendy, who’s confused about it.

From what I've seen, Choo has potential that I didn't see in Ying.

I was excited for Tian Sha once upon a time: then they sat on it doing absolutely nothing for like 4 months and I lost all interest.
Wendy Choo rocks.

Funny, I was just thinking earlier about how good the start of Tian Sha was…
I’m glad Wendy has been able to repackage into a gimmick that somehow works (for the time being)

The couple times she was in ring as Mei Ying I I felt gimmick was alittle to early boring Undertaker and didn't fit in with work workrate NXT imo and I actually think it works better for Boa.
For Wendy she now gets to show charmisma and do more moves to tell a story. Not slow and plodding like her as Ying imo.

I'm honestly down for her playing both characters and them acting like they're two completely different people.
Not an alter ego, I mean a Smash/Repo Man type deal.

Wendy Choo is f***ing awesome and the crowd actually likes the character. I actually thought the Mei Ying character had a cool look, but they pretty much had to scrap it after the crowd chanted "This is stupid" during one of her matches.

She couldn’t work a match with any sort of energy as Mei Ying because they were so intent on having her hide her face with her hair at all moments. Ironically, she works with more energy when she’s meant to be a sleepaholic.

There's a lot about NXT 2.0 that feels rough around the edges, but honestly, I enjoy Wendy. In a gimmick-starved WWE, it's been a fun breath of fresh air.
I can definitely see where some feel it's cribbing a little from Orange Cassidy, but I think that A. the execution and concept are different enough, and B. considering the huge leg up he has on her in terms of time to perfect the act, what she's got going on so far has been impressive.

I will never not laugh at "Wendy who?" "Ham sandwich?" "Wendy Choo?" "Ham sandwich??"

I'm in the minority here, but I loathe the Wendy Choo character and sleeping gimmick.
Even in a business that's been exposed for years, where zombie biker morticians to men when think they're sharks to people falling off buildings only to return unharmed, this narcoleptic small woman is too much.

Wendy Choo gave me the gift of people falling over themselves to be offended about a regular ass name in the initial thread about it, so I'll always vote for the joy it gave me
