Shotzi. Nothing about her screams “heel.”
Ricky Steamboat. He was such a natural face that promoters were refusing to let him turn heel.
Goldberg.

There’s footage of Kerry Von Erich trying to be a cocky heel floating around and it may be the clumsiest promo ever recorded in the history of the business. He makes Jumping Jeff Farmer sound like late 80s Macho Man. I FOUND IT! “Get ‘dese cameras in ‘heah! We gon- we gon’ go all the way baby! Get that twenty five grand, uh…”

Sting has always been awful as a heel. Ditto Goldberg. I kinda like reluctant heel Sting in the Main Event Mafia.

Kind of a dark horse choice, but Sean Waltman. There's probably some strong heel work in GWF that I haven't seen, but the guy always stood out more as the underdog babyface than the alternative. Him in the Million Dollar Corporation was nothing special, in the nWo as Syxx was okay but nothing stand out, and turning on Kane left him so stagnant and boring that the term X-Pac Heat was invented to describe the reaction to him.
He's just someone I have far more fond memories of as a face.

Dustin Rhodes has had one good heel character; original "is he or isn't he?" Goldust and perhaps that's more down to the originality of the gimmick at first.
Everything else he's done as a heel from humiliation fetish Goldust, born again Christian, his facepaint misadventures in WCW and TNA has been toecurlingly bad and dwarfed by Goldust's comedy runs, his team with his brother and his current fiery veteran character in AEW.

Drew, he’s just too much a bad ass face, especially after carrying the company pretty much through the empty arena pandemic period. I hope, if not at Mania but at one PLE, he gets his big title win in front of the fans that he really deserved to have 2 years ago

He's just someone I have far more fond memories of as a face. I thought he played a slimy heel character well when he turned on Kane and stole Torrie from him. If anything, he was directionless after that feud, especially into 2001 with the whole X-factor stable. Also, wasn't the term "X-pac Heat" created by some random smark journalist who had this whole "non-kayfabe" hate towards him and it just took a life of it's own? How can you tell the difference between a "I want to see this guy get his ass kicked" boo and a "go-away" boo? They all sound the same to me. To add to the thread, I'll say Jim Ross. Not only do the live crowds not buy him as such, but his motivations for him trying to be a heel(both times) seem relatable. The first time in 1996 for Vince McMahon firing him two weeks after his first bells palsy attack, and in 1998/9 he suffered another attack along with his mother's death. He came off as understandably bitter, as all he wanted to do was return to his job that he loved. Dosen't help pretty boy and corporate suck up Michael Cole was making fun of his condition. I find it hilarious JR kicked him in the nuts and the crowd popped! Seriously, the guy is one of the greatest announcers of all time, so him being a heel, no matter how hard he tries just dosen't come off natural.

At least the one before he became a member of the 3MB. Plus, "Broken Dreams" was an awesome theme song.
