Why is this period of time never talked about? Did anything significant ever happen on Raw before 97? The only one I can think of was Pullmans got a gun

It was mostly squash matches.
There were some standouts among them, like 123 Kid vs Razor Ramon, but it didn't become a must watch anything can happen show until about the time of Pillmans Got A Gun.

Pretty much what the post above said. Wrestlers back then were mainly facing off against enhancement talent, though there were some standouts during that era such as 123 kid's matches against Razor in '93 and Bret in '94.
Granted, that era of wrestling does get talked about, but when we hear about it, we tend to hear the shittier aspects of that era such as Lex Luger's all-American run, Diesel as champ, King Mabel, and the various gimmicky shit that happened throughout that era.

That's why it was said in another thread, RAW wasn't really the A show until the Monday Night Wars were in full swing. Superstars still had a lot going on during this time frame.

End of 1995 into 1996 is when we started seeing matches with 2 names instead of enhancement talent. I’ve just watched most of 95 and all 96 Raws and I have noticed an improvement in match quality and angles progressing. Just started 97 and I’m looking forward to more Live Raws and the switch to 2 hours.

The first title change took place when Marty Jannetty beat his former tag team partner Shawn Michaels for the Intercontinental Championship.

It was uncut, uncooked, and totally uncensored. Too hot for the forums.

They were imo the true glory days of Raw. Cards taped weeks at a time from resorts in the Catskills or Bushkill, PA featuring glorious jobber matches.

Flair vs Perfect in 93 on RAW was pretty significant.

The post Mania 11 Raw was nuts. They somehow screwed up the timing of the breaks during the Alundra/Nakano match and Rhonda Singh debut, so they took a break right in the middle of the last segment with HBK and Sid with like 3 minutes left in the show. Sid’s starting to get mad, commercial break, suddenly Diesel’s in the ring and HBK is dead. Sid’s entire powerbomb murder of HBK didn’t air live.
It was a great way to get you to watch the weekend shows that week though.

I think Sid watched HBK totally sandbag the jackknife the night before and was just like “Not tonight, pal…”

Honestly, my favorite era of RAW. Yes, there were a lot of jobber matches, but that only makes it better, the big stuff not having to fight a dozen other things happening on the show to be memorable. So many underrated matches and angles.
