It wasn't the biggest thing from the show but man, I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did. Wardlow coming out with the cardboard cutouts, Tony going from trying to be professional to slowly losing it when Justin Roberts started reading the nickname list, JR being confused about what a palanquin was, MJF smooching the red head, Wardlow rapidly being fed up of life, it was something that shouldn't have worked but did.
I know some might see it as WWE-like but you know what, sometimes that works and it did here. Just hilarious.

They are laying it on SO THICK that Wardlow’s gonna turn, and it was already pretty obvious. MJF is basically treating him like Meg Griffin now.

Oh God, the moment where he was going to put his foot forward when MJF was basically saying he was going to get some thanks and the reaction to Shawn Spears basically made me go “He is going to kill every one in that ring individually and it’ll be glorious television”.

It was an excellent segment that had multiple layers to it: 1. Explained that Punk realized he made a mistake by not having somebody ready to have his back 2. Setting up the tag match 3. Highlighting that Punk still wants MJF 4. Advancing the Wardlow turn
The whole thing just rocked and MJF's temporary catchphrase for the feud is a nice touch, too.

Beat one of his childhood heroes. Made out with his girlfriend on live TV. Dude is just having the nicest run right now.

One thing I kind of loved was the subversion of people noticing him saying something to Punk after their match, clarifying to keep it in character.

I loved him being carried out on the Macho King chair, with Tony saying he hopes it gets dropped. I also loved FTR all drinking champagne and throwing away the glasses like bourgeois. I also have to give props to Shawn Spears staring at Justin Roberts to make sure he read MJF's introduction correctly, and Justin slowing down before he said "and bangs all the rats." Just a classic wrestling heel celebration.

I enjoyed the heck out of this segment. We all knew MJF was gonna brag like a son of a bitch, but this was something else.
This has easily became my favorite rivalry in wrestling today. Excellent work from everyone involved here.

I believe Wardlow took an exasperated swig of champagne straight from the bottle at one point.

Everybody played their roles perfectly - from Justin Roberts being forced to read the intros, to the commentators dunking on the whole thing, to the different reactions of the Pinnacle. The segment made MJF even more of a douchebag heel (who knew that was possible) and made the crowd even more rabid for the Wardlow turn.

I really hope that “I beat CM Punk twice in Chicago.” becomes MJF’s “I beat Steve Austin and The Rock in the same night.”
With that said, even though I was hoping the end result would have been CM Punk and Danhausen (whom I’m presuming is still too injured to work) facing FTR… The segment was perfect and once again solidified why MJF should be the man that dethrones the Hangman when the time comes.
As I said, for personal reasons I would have still preferred an injured Danhausen “cursing” FTR in a tag team match with Punk… Jon Moxley testing the waters by tag teaming with someone on his level plays into his and Bryan Danielson’s story while simultaneously making me salivate at the potential of a three-man power trip with Moxley, Punk, and Danielson.
My only concern with another Punk vs. MJF match at “Revolution” is that it’ll end like MJF and Chris Jericho’s feud where ultimately MJF loses the feud.

Incredible segment all round. I’m bursting at the seams waiting for this Wardlow face turn. This is prime HHH v Batista storytelling here and I can’t wait.
My one critique? Punk going back on wanting a rematch with Wardlow. I wanted him to drive MJF crazy but not being interested in a rematch at all because Wardlow is the superior opponent.

Tony Schiavone: "I would pay a thousand dollars." I loved all of that because Excalibur was jokingly going “Wouldn’t it be funny if it fell?” and Tony responded by going “I would actually pay a thousand dollars for MJF to get tossed off”.

I wondered if that was his girlfriend when she gave him that Maryse-looking-at-Miz look.

Did get a laugh out of some people briefly being confused on twitter it was Dakota, Dustin Rhodes' daughter, but yeah, obviously not.

I know the obvious comparison is Triple H/Batista, and I may be wrong here, but I don’t ever recall Triple H being this openly passive-aggressive towards Batista like this, not even at the point of the actual turn (which was Batista overhearing Triple H’s big “This plan to get rid of Batista to protect my belt had better work” speech backstage, which then led to the contract signing where Batista sealed the deal and sent him through a table).
This has way more parallels to DiBiase/Virgil, especially with the specifics of the bodyguard actually being employed by the wrestler, not by the promotion.
