I like face Otis more, but Alpha Academy For one, Gable > Tucker And two, Alpha Academy's doing some memorable stuff and have fought to get on TV. Heavy Machinery's big moment was Otis and Mandy Agreed about Gable being better than Tucker. My ony thing is it took them like a year to finally start doing something with Alpha Academy. For a while there was this feeling of, "Are these guys ever going to do/win something important?" and Otis being a srs monster heel wasn't doing it for me. They're really good now, though. Gable when you actually give him half decent to work with can usually turn it into gold... the original American Alpha in NXT (including the bits before that when he was trying to recruit Jordan), the King of the Ring Tournament where he was massively over, them actually doing stuff with Alpha Academy now... Note I said half decent... Shorty G was never going to get over... for multiple reasons... (him not being short being the most obvious), and American Alpha after JBL basically ripped their entire gimmick to pieces and weren't allowed to talk and just went out and "wrestled good" when that was no longer enough to make you stand out in the WWE... (hell even the original split with Daniel Bryan trying to claim he was Gable's father was funny as hell... but didn't really lead anywhere)

Yeah, Tucker did a lot of work and even in my also ran writes him off more than he deserves. But it was clear from the start Otis was going to be the breakout... but like they barely tried at all with Tucker. Also one of the big things that hyped Otis up more was Tucker being behind him the entire time... until they decided to systematically destroy all the things that got Otis over. People might be able to cynical about the pushes of certain guys and whether they were hard done by or not...Tucker is a guy I can't blame for being bitter. He got screwed over and tossed aside for no, actual good reason. Shad at least got a match with JTG before being tossed aside, Tucker didn't get a chance to do a "You People" promo.

I still don't know who the f*** they were trying to appeal to, if anyone, outside of Vince's weird ass.

I voted Heavy Machinery, though I do think Alpha Academy is good and thankfully helped save Otis and Gable from the dust bin.

In an ideal world, Alpha Academy would include both American Alpha und Heavy Machinery. Put the Creed Brothers in there, too. Then Brock, Shelton, Angle and a returning Charlie Haas beat them in 5 seconds.

I don't think you were really paying attention to them much. Otis was the star of the team and clearly the one in the team that the office was a bigger fan of but both in the ring and on promos Tucker was the one pulling most of the weight. In their promos he wasn't quiet at all. He was presented as the more intelligent supportive "big brother" to Otis who would do most of the talking with Otis providing quick sound bites. In their matches he was always the one who would play face in peril and do most of the selling to set up the hot tag to Otis. I felt really bad for him because you could tell management didn't care about him at all and were all about Otis but I really thought Tucker was the glue of the team and his contributions were a big reason why Otis got over the way he did. This is something I feel like is going to be forgotten about when we compare the two teams... but is also completely emblematic about Tucker's time in WWE. They never tried with Tucker. He never was given a character of his own, as he existed as the guy to do all the jobs for Heavy Machinery. However, what made things worse for Tucker was that he could have been a good accompany to Otis's character as a both the guy to hype up why Otis is such a cool guy but also as motivation for vengeance whenever things go bad in Otis's life... only Tucker disappeared for months, and they just plum pretended he didn't exist. Then the whole heel turn happened which felt so forced and given Tucker was reduced to looking like what a homeless person wrestler gimmick would have been (pre-down on his luck Baron Corbin) and instantly shunted to the 24/7 Division without even getting the obligatory blowoff match. If there was a wrestler who embodied the "did he even exist?" in WWE in recent history, that might have been Tucker Knight.

Shit was trash. Otis and Tucker never even got to have a match and the romance angle with Mandy didn't even have a proper ending either... she just got traded to Raw because of Miz and that was that. Such BS.
