I'm surprised Flair beats out Hogan, actually.

Missing Verne's stats as Nursing Home World Champion. I hear he was a death match champion there. Too soon?

I'm surprised Flair beats out Hogan, actually. Ric Flair's first 3 NWA title runs already exceed Hulk Hogan's 4 year WWF title reign. This is then followed by 3 title reigns each of which extended past 400 days as champion. In the end Ric Flair won largely by volume.

To put Verne's into perspective, if I am doing the math right, he was champion for well over 12 years, combined. I know AWA's problems were myriad, but good lord.

He was a 10 time champion, the longest of his reigns lasted 2625 days or 7.2 years, and his last reign ended after he retired while still the champ and the title was simply awarded to previous champion Nick Bockwinkel. So in short he had the most reigns, the most cumulative days as champion, and the longest individual reign, and then couldn't even be bothered to put over the new top star on the way out. It's one thing to book yourself as champion, but it takes a special kind of arrogance to book yourself as the Greatest of All Time in your own promotion.

It both shocking and saddening to me that Brock has more days as champ Than Cena

Right, like it makes sense for someone to book themselves as a top star in so far as, well, it's not like you're ever going to hold yourself up for money, etc, right? But THE top star, for that long, it does really paint a certain picture of the man.

I'm surprised Roman and Cena aren't on the list Cena's cumulative days are 1,325(1,171 as WWE Champion & 154 days as World Heavyweight Champion) Roman's cumulative days are currently 721+ days(119 days as WWE Champion & 602+ days as Universal Champion)

It's worth noting Bruno probably could have met Verne's score if he wanted to. He was getting exhausted and was happy for Pedro Morales to get the title, only to be burdened again with the title when the elder McMahon wanted to cater to the Italian fans again instead of the Puerto Rican audience Morales obviously was big with. Had Bruno wanted to hold on longer, I don't think McMahon would have favored Bob Backlund over him, at least not right away, so he probably could have milked another couple of years until Vince would have taken over and likely would have wanted to install his own guy, most likely Hogan still. Bruno didn't likely need the money or ego boost, though, not enough to put up with the grind.

It both shocking and saddening to me that Brock has more days as champ Than Cena Honestly, I'm more shocked that he's in the top 10 than I am about that. Cena had a lot of runs with the world title, but almost all of them were short. Aside from his first title run and his 2006-2007 run none of his title reigns lasted longer than 133 days. Lesnar meanwhile had more consistently long runs although they were far fewer in number.

I wonder a bit on who, out of current wrestlers, have any chance of breaking into the top 10 if not already in it. I'm guessing few if any.
Also, had you counted AJPW's Triple Crown Championship for one, Misawa would have definitely bumped Lesnar off of the list. Naturally, I understand you have got to limit your scope somewhere, so not complaining, just pointing it out.

Roman would still need 1,000+ days as champion to make it, which is theoretically possible depending on when he retires. Tanahashi would need another 400 days, which I just don't see happening. Beyond them nobody comes to mind.

Honestly, how would you rank the territory promoters in terms of "biggest egos"? Fritz would be #1 to me, but Verne is a close #2

The only one I know much about is Giant Baba in Japan back in the 70s, who was noted as being one of the most honest, forthcoming, and generous promoters there ever was. The Original Sheik has a claim to it I would think.

Verne Gagne being on top of the list surprised me, I thought it would either be Bruno or Lou Thesz.
