Updated and as a side note if one counts Roman's current title run WWE champion separately, Roman has 1,535 cumulative days as champion, and is nearing entering this list.

Wondering where Lawler would be on the list... he won the belt in Memphis more that 50 times, how many days would his reigns add in to?
Edit: never mind, Memphis isn't a world title.

Didn’t Verne end up creating the AWA title because they refused to put the NWA title on him over Thesz? I must rewatch the history of AWA documentary as I am a bit rusty on this.
Given how much it was pretty much just Verne booking himself as champion, I always wonder the validity of including the AWA in world title analytics. Still was surprised to see Verne above Thesz and Sammartino even at that.

It was still a legit world title, it was the #3 belt in the 70s and 80s.

I have a hard time envisioning what it would be like on a week to week basis to have the same champion for eight straight years. Or even four years. Roman's two and a half years have felt ungodly long. Imagine it going on 2-3 times longer.

They were trying to get you into arenas with the TV broadcast.
