Seriously you know how damn long I've been wondering why I have childhood memories of Randy Orton and Batista watching a horse race together??? Also JBL fishing??? f***ing eons dude. It was only this year that I realized that WWE Confidential (which I thought was a book lmao) was the show that gave me all these random memories of wrestlers doing people stuff. What a neat show for its time tho. They did pretty much everything except outright break kayfabe (mostly) so if you were Tiny like me you weren't gonna have the sanctity of wrestling ruined for you just yet. Watching wrestlers just go on random normal dude adventures and bare their soul is so fun. It's like all the questions you've ever wanted wrestlers to answer for you answered.

I never watched this because I was kinda out of wrestling at that point, but I remember feeling this way about WWF Livewire, especially when Vic Venom would come on and talk about the competition. Cutting edge stuff, bro.

I remember the first time I found Cena super funny as a kid was him playing golf on Confidential.
also it had a great theme song that will be stuck in my head shortly

i'm sure there is a basketball game on one episode that Jazz wins, and Mark Henry talks about dunking the ball alot but doesn't.

I remember one episode ending with how awesome Steve Austin is - think it was to do with fan interaction after the shows went off the air
the next week was when he walked out so they completely buried hum

As fun as it may have been, I’ll always remember the Lex Luger/Miss Elizabeth episode the most.

It was fine until they did that smear campaign acting like it was somehow Lex Luger's fault Liz died.

This and Velocity was a blast to watch. I would record them and watch them once I got home Saturday Night.

Internet porn freed him from the shackles of hotel porn. We truly live in the greatest timeline. Well, decided to Google what JBL did and……..well. That’s enough Internet for today.

Won't shame a guy for what he's into, but that is both nothing like what I expected JBL to be into and EVERYTHING I expected JBL to be into.

I remember one that had Eric Bischoff talking about a WWF tryout where he cut a promo about a broom. I kind of chuckled because of how bad it was. Even Bischoff said it was bad.

Famously, this is where Shawn first admitted to being in on the Montral screwjob.
Also, interestingly, the DVD of 'Confidential' is really a great collection of the show's best bits as well as uniquely the one and only DVD WWE ever released containing the full Bret-Shawn Survivor Series 97 match. (It was later a Blu Ray exclusive on other releases, but never on the DVD format)

Yep same with me. I was not only watching any wrestling that aired on a channel I had I would also record them to VHS and keep the tapes. When I moved in 2003 I had 3 huge boxes of tapes. Finally in 2005 got a buddy to transfer all my wrestling tapes to dvd-rs.

I know I have the Confidential episode about Davey Boy Smith’s death because it featured footage from a local Indy show I was at the weekend before he died, that footage is not on the WWE Network version. It’s 2022, I should really get on transferring my VHS stuff to digital before the tapes are shot.

And could come in after work and use their equipment. All he wanted from me was I pay for the blank dvd-rs and let him keep the tapes. Some of what I had was recorded on Betamax tapes. If yall ever see any early to mid 80s wrestling footage floating around that was a big 44 in the corner odds are good it came from my tapes.
